Adrian Peterson was a free agent this year and the Saints got him on the cheap.

First year 2.25 million and a second year essentially open year 4.75 million.

Even if Elliott weren't suspended this would have been the move to make. A significantly better player than Morris and McFadden whose contracts run us 1.3 million and 980k respectively this year.

McFadden had a very good 2015.

And McFadden ain't gonna throw a fit when Elliott comes back and gets most of the carries.

And at this point we don't know if Elliott is going to miss 6 games... 3 games... or may not miss any games in 2017 due to a potential court case.

And honestly, even if he does miss all six, I don't think the impact will be as big as we think. In an odd way, I'm okay with it, I can't wait to see what Dak is really made of. This is where he makes his stand as a franchise QB.
