Still a good idea not to sign Peterson?

I love how people think AP needs to be in his prime to be better than McFadden/Morris...

And he absolutely would have signed here.

Also wasn't hindsight.

First, he is a better backup. Second, we knew this suspension could come.

Plenty of good RBs will be available when rosters get cut down. I've watched most of the televised preseason games and there are capable backs that won't make some rosters.

Let's play the hindsight game. It never gets old.

You want hindsight.

In the 2015 draft Dallas selects Tevin Coleman instead of Randy Gregory. Now you have your running back and the Gregory fiasco never happened.

In the 2016 draft Dallas selects Jalen Ramsey instead of Elliott. Dallas now doesn't have to sign Carroll and when Scandrick is done after this year the secondary looks like Ramsey, Brown, Awuzie, Lewis, and White going into the 2018 draft. Nice young secondary.

Hindsight looks pretty good.

Elliott is better than Coleman and Ramsey. And I was a huge Tevin Coleman fan.

If Coleman was the starting running back for Dallas he would be a top 5 running back, plus you throw in Ramsey. That trumps Elliott by himself.

Run that trade by any GM in the NFL and all would take the 2 for 1.

You know what they say about if and buts right?

In 2014 Murray led the NFL in rushing.
In 2015 McFadden was 4th in rushing. McFadden had a 4.6 YPA and Peterson who led the league had a 4.5 YPA. That year Joseph Randle was the starter at the beginning of the year and McFadden took over week 6. Had McFadden been the starter from day 1, he would have led the league in rushing.
In 2016 Elliott led the NFL in rushing.

You see the trend. Put a quality running back behind the Dallas OL and that running back will produce at a high level. You put Coleman behind this OL and chances are he will lead the NFL in rushing.

This is why Coleman and Ramsey together are greater than just Elliott by himself.

Still talking about what ifs? Until you find a way to get both on the team, it's all fiction. Elliott leading the league in rushing and matching Cowboys best regular season record is FACT.

Reading and comprehension.

My first post say's, "you want hindsight".

That's all about fiction.

You also make a lot of unsupportable statements, like all GMs would take Coleman and Ramsey over Elliott. Call it hindsight or whatever, doesn't make it true.

12 + 88 = 100, not 7.
