Beating San Fran this week has no bearing on what this team will do come postseason.

Measuring stick is winning in the playoffs..... That's it. Not the Arizona game, Philly or San Fran will mean anything in the regular season
I mean, it could have major ramifications for playoff seeding...

Good teams beat the bad teams. That's how it works. What would the records of those teams be if Dallas didn't beat them?

It's funny how the Cowboys can beat down a team like the Jets and "it's only the Jets". Yet the media is drooling over Patrick Mahomes when the Chiefs beat the same team 23-20.

Or how Dallas' 35 point win over the Patriots means "the Pats suck" yet the Eagles beat them by 5 points and it's "The Eagles are clutch!"
Maybe because the Chiefs have proven they're mentally tough come playoff time. If the Cowboys had just won a SB people would give them more leeway.

Dallas hasn't been great as a number 1 seed or any seed for almost 30 years. Not sure seeding helps Dallas or not.

Just make it and see what happens

Who cares? Cowturd. Stephen A. Bart Scott. Shannon Sharp.

Any of them can say what they want. Means nothing to me. I'm not buying into their hate.
It won’t be just them if the Cowboys lose on Sunday, especially if the score is lopsided. There’s many in the media who doubt the Cowboys. A lot of people are going to buy into the hate if the Cowboys can only beat average teams when everything goes their way. They’re going to have to prove they can stand up to a punch in the mouth against a legitimate Super Bowl contender and find a way to win.

Eagles beat NE and Minn by one score, Wash in OT and blew out TB.
SF beat the Rams by one score and blew out Pitts, NYG and AZ
Cowboys blew out the Giants by 40 (much more than SF), blew out the NYJ and the Patriots by 35 (Eagles almost lost to them at the end) and lost to AZ

My thought process is always that a win is a win and winning close games is something good teams do and 3-1 is never as good as 4-0, but to try and spin what has happened so far as "still haven't beaten anyone" when we have been by a mile the best team in the NFL for 2 of 4 weeks and possibly the best in a 3rd is silly. It's 4 weeks. Records and who you have played will be skewed in small sample sizes. All you can do is just play well each week and beat whomever is across the field from you.

Has anyone looked at San Fran's schedule so far this year? Pittsburgh, LA Rams, NY Giants, Arizona. Combined 6-10 and not one team has a winning record. I suspect if they lose to Dallas, the same question will be posed at them.

The talking heads have to talk too much so of course they react on a weekly basis. No one really looks back at what they say over the course of a season to discover they are wrong almost all the time.

That being said, I'll give up this win (even real ugly) if we can meet them and beat them come playoff time.

We'll see if the Arizona game was just "one of those games" or does it mean the Cowboys can only beat weak teams.
The combined record of the teams Dallas beat is 3-9.
Regardless of whether or not teams like the Chiefs have beaten the same teams by less or not, it's 100% true the Cowboys haven't beaten a good team this year. And it's sometimes hard for teams like the Chiefs, who are coming off multiple SB wins in the last few years, to "get up" for a team like the Jets. So they have somewhat of an excuse, they're looking ahead to February and the SB. Dallas? They carry the burden of multiple playoff failures the last 27 years, they're looking ahead to having to beat a team that's had their number the last 3 times they have played.

It's still too early to tell how the season will go, I agree it's a small sample size. How good are the Cowboys?

We'll see in the next 4 weeks....

They were somebody before the game. It was after the Cowboys beat them that they were reduced to "not anyone".

Each of them were hyped up to be capable of defeating the Cowboys. They all had good to great defenses that were supposed to slow down Dak and the offense.

The Arizona Cardinals are still “not anyone”. They haven’t done anything through four weeks of the season. See, it works both ways. It is only about beating the team you’re playing. There are no style point in the NFL.

Well actually it could help a lot later. Plus wouldn't you rather be 4-1 than 3-2 with our upcoming slate? Losing to Arizona means we need to steal one we probably shouldn't win.

The reputation of the Dallas Cowboys is whatever their record indicates it is. It means different things to different people. To the faithful fans of the Dallas Cowboys, what their haters think it means isn't of any interest to them. The media and those who criticize this team can say whatever they want if that's what it takes to please them. It's what free speech in America entitles them to. The true fans of this team have the same privilege.

Agreed. I don't know why it works some fans here into a frenzy.

Choose smarter sources to watch/listen. Side-step the shouting-channels and the manipulative voices. Avoid all the major networks for anything legitimate is always rule #1. They only care about ratings and agendas and will play their games to push them.

For now: YouTube channels like PFF are a better bet.
