Still holding onto Cooper in the offseason?

I've posted 2 game's highlights production from this season where Cooper is single covered throughout both while CeeDee is seen being double covered, yet CeeDee is the one ending up with better production.

Cooper is limping around out there and of little threat the last few weeks. Gallup is out and Lamb is still killing it. Shultz has become someone they are double teaming now. You need 3 out of those 4 guys. Dont need all 4. So you take out the older guy with the 22 million dollar salary. Pretty simple logic.

Get rid of the guy with the 22 million dollar salary. Makes the most sense.

It makes the most financial sense but then you are removing a huge part of this offense. Minus Cooper, Lamb will be the one getting the double coverage and you're counting on Gallup or Wilson to continually make the plays Lamb is making this year.

I really like Gallup but I think his numbers are a result of having Cooper opposite him most of his career. I would try to restructure Cooper's deal for cap relief before kicking him to the curb.

May as well get rid of the guy that makes 40 million.....all the salary cap geniuses around here will cut Dak, Coop, Zeke, Tank, Collins, Tyron etc and start a JV team and then cry when we don't win.....

Copper isn’t getting double covered.

Sure, if we had a younger guy like lamb that was better on a rookie contract. Lol

your starting to understand.

Its unpopular with people that can only think one dimensionally. If were building a team here, its the smart move. Its either Gallup going or Cooper going after this season. To me it comes down to what price Gallup wants and can you trade Cooper and for what.

Team is better off with Gallup, Lamb, Gregory, Shultz then it is with Lamb, Gallup, Cooper and no Shultz or Gregory.
Agreed. As it stand he's probably like a 12 mil guy

I would rather have Gallup for 7 million less. Cooper is brittle and not getting any younger.

amari is only 2 years older than gallup. he’s only 27 and squarely in his prime. gallup is also currently on the shelf and has missed more games this season than coop has in his career.

amari isn’t going anywhere, and certainly not to keep dalton schulz

I seriously doubt Cooper will accept much less base pay on a renegotiation. Cooper is still "young" (27 years old) and is right in his prime years, so renegotiating to keep Cooper will only cost the Cowboys more in the long run.
Cooper's cap hits were 34 million the last two seasons, with only 6 milliom guarenteed this year. Its basically a 3 year deal for 56, which is 18.6 per. He is making 22 million per year for the rest of the contract, but its year to year with no guarantees. You approach him with a renegotiation offering him another 40 in guarantees over the next 3 years, you can keep his cap hits about the same as what they were

Id rather pay Cooper 18.5 million per, than pay Gallup 15
