If 4 guards have to guard it then it's not "nailed" down. So it'll be unveiled before the game. There is NO way that is in line with the rules if you can have a piece of field just laying out there some place.

BTW, the Giants have the right to request the star be level with the field and delay the game.

Many years ago, the Ravens actually called off a preseason game against the Eagles (who played at Veterans stadium at the time) because the field was sewn together in pieces.

No NFL players will play on an uneven field...even if it may be Jerry's dream.
