How about offer some analysis to discuss
His feet are not elite enough to play LT. He got beat multiple times against the Eagles and again today. It's fine as long as we're winning but he's NOT a LT.

He’s really good at LT right now. The more he plays the better he’ll get.

he was a home run pick, but like every other rookie, he’ll make a few mistakes. What he does physically is very impressive.

He is rookie and has played fairly well. Since you brought up footwork, that is something can be taught and good OL improve upon. He has the first step and strong hands to stop a pass rusher. He has gone against and won matchups against legit pass rushers.

Dare I say he's might be Larry Allen lite. A fine tackle but a great and powerful guard

fine? Allen was an All Pro Tackle. He would have been a first ballot Hall of Famer if he only played tackle.

He's a left tackle. He just needs more practice with his footwork and refining his other techniques. For a rookie, he's doing great. If he keeps working hard he'll be a quality left tackle for years to come.

i think he will be a great guard too. but the salary cap and how difficult it is to get an above average left tackle in nfl might have to keep him at left tackle in the future if the cowboys have to release tyron smith next year.

Smith has been doing just fine so far at a very difficult position. I think the Cowboys will seriously consider giving the elder Smith the LT spot back late this season for what we expect will be a playoff run, but the rookie Smith is the LT of the present and the future.

These starts he's getting now will only make him better in the long run.

........not so fast my friend. I'm not so sure that 'the elder Smith' will get his job back. A lot will depend on when he gets back because it's not as easy as just sliding the younger Smith back to guard. Why? Cuz he hasn't played it all season. Sure, he did in college but this ain't college. It could upset the rhythm and timing of the Oline. Might wanna make Tyron the swing tackle and leave the lineup as is. I know it sounds goofy, but you have to admit that rhythm, timing and cohesiveness are a big deal for an Oline unit.

It’s his rookie season, and not sure he was drafted to play G, but he’s bottom 10 in sacks allowed and penalties.

This shouldn’t be a surprise. His scouting report literally screamed OG. He’s filled in admirably, and I think he can be a potential pro bowl G, but we really need Tyron back and need to draft an OT.

It's rare to see a rookie LT perform as well as he has.

I can't see why he won't continue in the position unless Tyron has a remarkable recovery and can actually stay healthy.

I think you put him at LG if Tyron comes back and then see what the off-season brings. If you can get one of the best 2 guards in the draft, Tyler is your LT. If not, ride Tyron another year and hope Waletsko can be a decent swing T

I think Tyler has played better than anyone could have asked. I dont necessarily see a huge need to upgrade at the position in the draft next spring but if an outstanding LT fell into their lap I would run the card up there because you can never have enough quality linemen.
He can hold the line until Waletzgo ready, Tyron retired,
