Kicking myself because I bought back into Twitter too early @ ~$33/share. It dropped down to ~$27 two days later. Was at $38 less than a month ago.

There's still money to be made out there with the market down.

I am not a big tracker of the stock market. Looks like at the bell they got caught with a vicious right hook that sent them to the canvas to start the day. Hopefully can bounce back.

This thing should have been suspended last week
It was. Like three separate times! (twice during the day and once in over night trading)

It was halted again over the weekend (futures were I heard anyhow) and then again right after it went live at 9AM EST.

Yea, I mean indefinitely like after 9/11. There are going to be many bankruptcies and closed businesses when this is all said and done. Stop the financial bleeding for awhile......

That I believe was a public safety shutdown. I can only imagine the lawsuits if you tried to do it just because the market was dropping. The pauses are to try to calm the panicked, (the emotional need to stop and breath) but you cannot just shutdown the markets indefinitely because it's dropping.

People have the right to invest / divest themselves of their assets.

I know the problems and repercussions if it were to be shut down but this is on a global level where goods and services pretty much stopped. I do agree that people should hold steady and not panic but it is human nature to self preserve. It is much like the food hoarding going on now........I can’t find anything to eat! :lmao:

People are going to be ruined financially if this continues into Summer and shutting down the market might be the best chance to help the people from themselves.

Market levels back to March of 2017
It's brutal and I don't see it ending in the near term. This cut is already deep and it has the possibility to go WAY deeper given that so many businesses have their business falling off the table right now. No businesses open and no work for workers means no money/spending. The affects of that are just going to compound the current losses.

It's like getting burned by acid. Then instead of getting out, you just sit in it taking an acid bath.

I feel bad for the people who are losing their entire savings or worse.

If you don't mind risk, the inverse leveraged ETFs are a place to get a good return. The Market gave a sell signal on Feb 28 and TZA is up 115% since then.

Not even checking my retirement account. I have 30-years to recover, but I feel horrible for those who don't. At the same time, things are still up from 4-years ago and I feel like anyone close to retirement should have probably shifted their investments to something low risk a long time ago. Then again, I'm an idiot at this. When I get to the redzone of retirement, I'm going to play it safe and go entirely low-risk. Just a personal belief of mine but you can't build an entire retirement in a few years. That's why they tell you to invest early.

Well, if you don't mind risk then there are people making fortunes using puts
ballsy, but even that can be leveraged to mitigate risk

I always preferred the ETFs. More straight forward. There are specific rules to shorting that don't apply to them and you can always use a stop.

Everyone hang in there. It’s going to plunge but remember in 2016 it was hovering around 17,000 and last recession in 2008 under 8,000.

Ive lost hundreds of thousands the last couple weeks which of course Id gained in last decade.

It will rebound again in coming years but it appears a recession more probable than likely due to current atmosphere.
We’re all in this together !!
Can I borrow a few bucks in 6 months. Lol. JK.
