I'm thrilled to have Dak as our future, and I'm even more thrilled at what Zeke brings to our team, but I've said all-along that the MVP talk for either guy is just stupid. I don't care if Dak had led a last second comeback for victory last night, stats aside, to say he's better than Brady and others as a rookie is silly. Zeke showed last night that he's a man and can stick his head in there play after play, but his 100 yards was pedestrian if that's possible. They shut him down completely in the second half, showing why RB's seldom get the MVP. They all need the stellar blocking to ever be considered MVP.

Our rookies are great, but they both go as the OL and/or passing game goes, and last night both struggled as the OL was manhandled by the Giants for most of the game.

It's much less stupid for Zeke. He's actually part of the engine that makes this offense go. Dak is a role player.

Oh I see. So when you responded to me you did so completely off the topic of what I was saying?

Outstanding. For a second there I thought you were a scolded fan who can't stand that I was right.
Juuuuussst like clock work.

I don't like spinning. Makes me sick. Steer clear of even merry-go-rounds.

However, your obsession with being 'right' on a message board should concern your parents. They aware?

+1 for the use of scolded. Really sent the message 'over the top'.............which is what you're really good at. In the name of being right and all. ;)

I wish dak would admit he's in over his head right now. No shame in admitting you need help. Romo sat for 3 years. Daks been more than that 3-3 we were asking him to be when Romo initially got hurt.

Not to jump in here uninvited, but why do you take every opportunity, however gratuitous, to bash Dak? Is it to make yourself feel better because our FO did not do what you wanted and trade up to take Wentz? I am no Dak apologist, but he is our QB now and for many years to come, for better or worse. Yet, you'd still rather waste your energy calling out our own fans who are genuinely, even if somewhat unrealistically, excited about him as an MVP candidate. It is the worst kind of fan to want to be proven right at the expense of his own team's success.

up:

Sean Lee. 18 tackles. Best linebacker in the league. Period.

pretty much the entire defense other than Carr.

Down:

The entire offense really but it obviously comes down to two. Dak and Dez.
Dak was clueless tonight. Holding the ball way too long, bad throws, turnovers, etc. has the league caught up to him?
Dez- easily the most overrated player on the team, perhaps the league. forget top 5, he isn't in the top 10 list of receivers

Linehan- we can only hope some team is foolish enough to hire him away. No screens, no draws, no hot routes? His refusing to adjust and refusing to stick to the run is mind boggling. The stealers have Bell 42 touches yesterday

Dak has three straight games of less than 200 yards passing, it is not a problem isolated to last night.

For all those saying weather wasn't a factor last night, explain how Dan Bailey's range went from 60+ yards to being unable to make a 53 yard field goal.

That alone should serve as tangible proof that the conditions were a limiting factor.

Stock down: Byron Jones. He was consistently late on plays, especially on ODJ's TD, and he was outplayed by a safety from Bama who was taken after him in the draft. It's time for him to prove he is a top safety.

This guy rarely makes a play. He's been a day late and a dollar short for the most part. Not a give up post on him at all, and given the safety play for the franchise over the last decade plus, he's an improvement, but need more from him.

Agree for the most part. He is a good player but the kid from Bama (drafted behind him) is outperforming him (with multiple picks, diagnoses plays quickly, and is a team leader) and he needs to provide more. He is due.

Barry Church played very well, almost had two interceptions. I think if he didn't have that brace on his forearm he would have made those plays.

Weather has nothing to do with terrible footwork and mechanics, let alone decision making.

There were some guys who slipped, like Dez on the pick, but that had nothing to do with Dak's play.
Take the two INTs away and Dak still had a terrible night.

Ill give Dak credit, he has made improvements in his mechanics throughout the season, but games like yesterday shows he has to do alot of work to consistently mechanically sound. Thats what I can say right now is that they are very inconsistent and last night the bad side was on full display

Ron Leary stock is down. He's looked horrible the last 2 games.

Speaking of Leary, check out this piece from Bryan Broaddus earlier:

Jason Garrett said it was communication problems that led to the negative Ezekiel Elliott run on 3rd-and-11. In watching the play, it appears that Ronald Leary didn’t get the call just by judging his technique. When Prescott made the check, his back was to Leary and Tyron Smith. Leary was the only one along the offensive line that didn’t block for the toss coming left. What is interesting about the play, was that if Leary did get Devon Kennard, the play had a chance to hit. Witten had the corner secure, Beasley got a block inside, Butler had Apple blocked with Smith in space looking to clean up. There are five white shirts blocking four blue shirts with Elliott carrying the ball. It might have appeared to be a strange call at the time, but with proper communication it would have made sense.

Not sure what game you watched but Church was late and took a horrible angle on that Beckham TD. Not only that Jones was filling holes and making tackles in the run game. Aside from Lee and Brown Jones was one of our best players on defense

I thought Zeke was gone on that play until I looked back at the line. He had tons of space had Leary made the block

Byron Jones is the primary reason the CBs and other Safety have played better this season despite minimal pass rush.

You have to watch All-22 to evaluate Safeties. It's not out yet for this game but he has been very good in the other games.

For sure, he had a bad game all around.

But the cold was clearly a factor--for Dak and several others. You'd be blind to ignore that
