It gave ECW a little boost, back then, but obviously it didn't do anything to get ECW over WCW. Now, of course, when they were doing it ECW didn't even have a weekly show that was on national television. By the time they were on the channel, that went on to become SPIKE, the WWE wasn't really helping them out anymore.

Though they did do that nice angle with them where Taz went over to ECW and beat Mike Awesome, on his way out, for the ECW title and then promoted it, and ECW, by having Taz take on HHH while Taz was ECW champion.

That allowed them to set up Dreamer vs. Taz cause they had Dreamer accidently cost Taz the match against HHH.


ROH having a TV show and, IMHO anyway, being a better overall brand than ECW was, would be interesting to see how much it would help them out having WWE promote them a little bit.

WE'VE BEEN PUNKED

NOW we’d all love to believe CM Punk was shooting from the hip on Monday night, but British wrestling fans aren’t that stupid.

Far from raining on the parade of the Chicago mainstay, FT is happy to raise our hat with a flourish in his general direction. His was a truly exceptional promo.


Yes, his rant against Vince was sanctioned by the TV show’s producers. Of course it was. Nothing airs on RAW without prior approval. Very little planning, sometimes, granted, but all given the nod by the big man.


Crucially, the virulent and acidic rant could serve as evidence of a creative shift

CM Punk Storyline Continues Overseas, Sin Cara Loses First Match

WWE further advanced the CM Punk promo while they were overseas at a RAW tour in Sydney, Australia. Before the show, it was announced that CM Punk was suspended but Vince McMahon and Punk had reached an agreement that he would only perform on live events and not TV shows. Punk then came out and cut a promo on the McMahon family, among others, before they cut his mic off.
