The problem isn't the short throws themselves, it's that he's so late to get to them.
Drew Brees has made a career out of throwing the ball short.
Pretty much agree with the sentiment of most here. My two cents: Dak's vision is just terrible...or, he has the "yips". He's either just not seeing these open receivers (anticipation), doesn't trust the receiver, or doesn't trust himself. Bad vision and hesitation lead to a lot of sacks and missing the big play; I think it's safe to say we've seen plenty of that. Bad vision, hesitation, and low confidence = catastrophe at the QB position.
I think there's hope, but while I would agree we need to replace Linehan, I think an even more important off-season hire, is finding a QB guru for a QB coach. I'll just go ahead and say it...Dak needs someone like Romo at his side. We'll have to figure out plan B until Romo becomes part of our coaching staff in another 3-5 years; he won't be able to resist his passion for the game.
Regarding the ATL game, if we lose focus on Tevin Coleman, this will be a very bad game for our defense. I'm quite certain Steve Sarkisian is watching the Titans game film, and seeing the opportunity.
