Jake Delhomme was a backup to Aaron Brooks. That is an NFL job.

For every Delhomme you can name, I'll name 20 guys who made it without going the route he did.

It has nothing to do with a big school. McNair is one of my favorite QBs in the NFL.

With Parcells it is hardto say if that is true or not.

That's speculation, but I can buy that more than some may expect. I still say not enough has been shown to change the minds of those who matter and that's better evidence than all the conspiracy theories.

You can't win a Super Bowl with Testaverde, You can't win a Super Bowl with Drew Bledsoe. They don't have what it takes to finish in the NFL.

Hey, Romo hasn't shown me anything either, except for reminding me what mobility in the pocket is all about. Romo may not be the answer. But Dallas needs a different quarterback if they are going to win a Super Bowl in the next 5 years. I'm hoping Romo can manage a game. Trent Dilfer did, and has a Super Bowl ring to prove it. Show a little mobility, don't make huge mistakes, and Dallas can have the Lombardi trophy in 2 or 3 years. I don't think Bledsoe is where he needs to be this year. It's not going to get better.

Romo may not be the answer, but the hope that he might be is worth a change. We could win a playoff game with Bledsoe, but not a championship.

I must be missing the point. He got the Carolina job because he had shown some promise as the Nawlins backup.

I'd take a top notch college QB recruit over a pre-season showing that didn't end in earning the starting job any day. That's just me.

IIRC Romo's main preseason opportunity, when he took every snap, was lights out.
Sure, he wasn't playing against all the starters but he took the opportunity that was given and made a great showing.
The interpretation that his performance wasn't good enough for him to be the starter was made by a coach who has been notoriously conservative with his choice of QBs in Dallas.
Throw out the first year in Dallas and he has done nothing but play two guys that he had experience with.
And its painfully obvious to most people that those two guys just couldn't get it done anymore at the stage of their careers while Parcells stubbornly kept playing them.

We know that we can get no farther than the playoffs with Bledsoe. With Romo, we have an actual chance to go farther than the playoffs. 3 Int in a big game just won't cut it.

Romo may give up three picks in a big game, but he MAY not. And Dallas has to take that chance.
