That's my point, Alex. This seems more like a numbers list than a "fanatic" list. I haven't seen a Chiefs bar, but I also haven't been to KC. Their fanbase is incredibly loyal and supportive from all that I've heard.

And they have the loudest stadium in the States.
Well if you read the article, it explains the study's methodology very clearly. It does not mention the "loyalty" and positive "support", those are intangible qualities anyways.

It is clearly stated if you see the criteria. Now if someone just sees a list like this with "best fans" as a header, they might misunderstand.

It is about the footprint of the brand. How many followers on social media, merchandise sales, how many jerseys are sold, etc.

KC probably has a very small concentrated fan base and probably not a lot of transplants to other cities would be my guess. Other cities I have been in seem to have clusters of Steelers and Packer fans, etc.

Yeah, the Chiefs aren't a top fan base but I know they aren't the worst.

For a team that hasn't won many playoff games since the 60s, they are pretty well supported.

Again, it is not a list about "best" and "worst". It has very little to do with things that cannot be measured in numbers.

How many paint their faces and yell louder at the stadium--all irrelevant to the scope of the study.

No, I know. I'm just adding my own commentary :)

Nobody read the article. They just looked at the list.

Not louder than Arrowhead.
Yes. Slightly. Although I think the fans compete with each other. The record level of decibels go back and forth.

The 12th man created a small earthquake the year they beat the Saints in the playoffs on their 7-9 season.

Arrowhead holds the record. It's loud as a son of gun in both stadiums, but I think Arrowhead edges them out, decibel-wise.

True. Probably saw Dallas at the top, did a fist pump and noticed the Eagles at three and got all bent out of shape.
I mean it is a pretty lame title. "Best" fan is arbitrary and can be defined as how anyone wants to. That's why I didn't read it.

Hell, I can call Browns fans the "best" fans, just because they've stuck around their inept franchise that's started 57 QBs in the last 52 years.

A lot of people are commenting on teams other than the Cowboys on that list, too.

So, by the packers being 9th based on their very small local fan base means most folks enjoy pulling for a winner...is that correct?

Of course.

The Chiefs might be "winning" lately, but are they really? They have not made a Super Bowl since the early 1970s.

If you are old enough to remember, Packer fans outside the state were literally non-existent prior to the Favre-era. Most of the brand capital built up from the 1960s had worn down by the 1980s because they were not winning throughout the 1970s. Then in the early 1990s, they start making Super Bowls and then almost overnight, cheese heads appear all over the place.

The Bills have an outstanding and loyal fan base.

The Panthers are an expansion franchise...that expanded to a state that strongly pulled for either the Commanders, Falcons, or Cowboys.
Still, the panthers are often near the top in attendance.
