Well if you read the article, it explains the study's methodology very clearly. It does not mention the "loyalty" and positive "support", those are intangible qualities anyways.That's my point, Alex. This seems more like a numbers list than a "fanatic" list. I haven't seen a Chiefs bar, but I also haven't been to KC. Their fanbase is incredibly loyal and supportive from all that I've heard.
And they have the loudest stadium in the States.
It is clearly stated if you see the criteria. Now if someone just sees a list like this with "best fans" as a header, they might misunderstand.
It is about the footprint of the brand. How many followers on social media, merchandise sales, how many jerseys are sold, etc.
KC probably has a very small concentrated fan base and probably not a lot of transplants to other cities would be my guess. Other cities I have been in seem to have clusters of Steelers and Packer fans, etc.
