Stuff I learned today

I don't know that that is true, but I know I had one 3 years ago, and now I have another. Wierd thing is I am in no pain even though it is stuck halfway between my kidney and bladder. Not the usual savagery you get with a stone.
I had to get lithotripsy to get rid of mine. It was in the kidney. Funny thing is, they saying I'd be in a lot of pain and bruised for a week or two, but when I walked out of the hospital, it was like nothing happened.

I wish you the best of luck! Drink more lemonade, my doctor told me.

watching shark week...a female great white can grow to 22ft....and weigh 6,000 pounds.
and some think they could grow to 30ft.
i saw jaws.
that is NOTHING compared to a 30ft...6,000lbs great white.
only The Lord can make'm that big.

Thanks, I have been drinking lemon juice in water which I read helps break up the stone but I think I will need the lithotripsy too because I think it is blocking my ureter. I never had a stone until I was 68, now I've had two in less than 3 years!. I need to figure out what is causing them because this is the worst.

Funny thing is I have been taking cranberry supplements for bladder and kidney issues and it turns out that can cause the formation of kidney stones. Something else I just learned!

I recently learned that the term lunatic comes from the word Luna, or moon, which originated from the belief that the moon’s phases would be at fault for a person’s change in personality
While science says the moon affecting behavior is a myth, I challenge you to find a teacher that doesn't have ample amounts of anecdotal evidence every single year of kids behavior changing based on the full moon cycle.

The only differences between a full moon and any other moon is sunlight, and a negligible change of the angle in the sky. If people want to claim the angle means there's a stronger gravitational pull when the moon is more directly overhead, and that causes some kind of effect on the brain, that effect would be much stronger when the sun is overhead.

I once had a neighbor who worked in an institution, and he was sure that the full moon affected the patients, but that was probably confirmation bias.

I would agree with you, but my wife is a teacher. I've been in the classrooms. I've seen the difference in behavior. It's weird. Whether the teacher pays attention to the actual phases or not, just by the students behavior, a teach can usually tell if it's a full moon or not. But it makes sense from a hunter-gatherer perspective given that the full moon offers more light at night and promotes more nocturnal predatory activity. It might actually cause altered behavior because of it due to a subconscious agitation. So not so much a gravitational effect as a biological effect.

Your wife teaches at night?

I am going for the lithotripsy tomorrow. My kidney values are deteriorating so they have to get the stone out asap. Did you get a stent? I am told I need to have that for a week then back in for another cystoscopy to remove it. I have had about a dozen cystoscopies before this for other reasons so that's no big deal anymore, but I am told the stent could be uncomfortable while it is in.

No. Maybe because it's in the ureter and mine was in the kidney.

The secret service does protection in circles and the outer circle is for the local cops.
There is supposed to be a service agent next to local cop with a radio in case they see anything in outer circle.

Slanted(more like flat) roofs pose a problem as well……

You dodged a bullet. I have one now and it is not the most pleasant experience. I am losing so much blood my hemoglobin dropped to 12.7. And on top of that, they couldn't find the stone that started this entire process.

Oh crap, that sucks! Could you have passed it?

Idk. I suspect in time I will be posting something else I learned today! I could not have passed it before surgery because I was screening every time. Maybe during or after? I am getting more X-Rays and a CT scan next week. Its going to be like Where's Waldo for a while I think.

Wow, that seems like a lot, for a kidney stone. I really hope this gets sorted out STAT.(I so rarely get to use medical jargon ;))
