So, what will the team do about it?
It sure sounds like nothing drastic. The coaching staff appears to be completely safe. The front office - of course - isn't going to make any substantial changes to the balance of power back in the offices (the new ones in Frisco!).
It appears that the 2015 Cowboys are going to chalk all of this season up to the bad luck monsters that grabbed a few of the key pieces of the puzzle. You can definitely see how they can talk themselves into that and the idea that they would be in the playoffs if they had a little "injury luck".
- One year after scoring 467 points in the 2014 season (29.2 points per game) and making offense look easy and simple, the team scored only 275 (17.2 ppg). Now, you can say that is all Romo and Dez Bryant, but to give you an idea of just how bad 275 points is in a season, the year Jon Kitna played QB for 9 games and Stephen McGee 1 more, the team scored 394 (24.6 ppg). They could never, ever score this season. It was just too impossible to accomplish actually accumulating points.
Well, that's depressing.

This season blew chunks for sure and I think the team has to look at itself long and hard in every aspect.
But the only thing worse than winning 4 games is following the CLE model of blow it up every 3 years and start over.
That's a no go.
Staff changes? Likely the HC and both Coordinators are safe. But I'd be looking at a QB Coach, TE Coach and some type of DB coach.
Roster? Back up QB depth chart will be different.
I expect 10-12 guys on the two deep to be replaced. 3-4 via promotions, 3-4 via draft, 3-4 via free agency.
Not blowing this thing up doesn't mean status quo.
It is going to be a very long off-season. Let's hope it is a fruitful one. It should be..., drafting 4th.
Well, that's depressing.
after this season how can any one still believe that this team will be able to fix what is wrong
.
Romo staying healthy. Can't believe that most of you really believe that we are all the sudden the Cleveland Browns.
A grand slam article good sir. Wonderfully articulating, and then factually supporting all of the factors that helped to make this the most disappointing Cowboys season ever.
And for ownership to come out guns blazing in full support of this staff only makes them look bad, not anyone who's asking the obvious questions.
My thoughts on this Coaching staff this year. This team was arguably talented in a lot of areas going into the season. Through injuries and suspensions, an opportunity was placed before this staff to do something special under some adverse conditions. Add to the injury and suspension fronts, a very big opportunity placed before this staff, the NFCE was terrible at best. The other three teams in the division literally laid the Division Title at the Cowboys feet for the taking.
So what did this coaching staff do? They not only failed to do something special, they totally failed to take the division with a team still talented enough to win 8 or 9 games even with the injuries which would have won the division. It's easy to look at a coaching staff when things are going well and wins are piling up and say, "Hey, these guys are good". Put a little adversity in front of them and they fall on their faces? Now we can see what bums these guys really are. The sample size is large enough right now to determine that we have a crappy coaching staff.
And that's a plan?!?!?
Crossing your fingers and hoping that a 36-year old quarterback somehow manages to stay healthy because that fixes everything wrong with this team?
Unbelievable! Just endorse your paycheck to Jerry Jones and be done with it. You obviously want to be free from the burden of unnecessary thinking anyway.
They don't care as long as their box seats and license deals keep the dollars flowing. Jones is the consummate carnival huckster and like
PT Barnham said, there's a sucker born every minute. As long as Dallas fans keep buying his story, tickets, jerseys, etc. all's well
in Frisco.
