Collins was better as I indicated in my review post; however, Sturm is biased because Collins was his pet cat from the draft. Strum hyped him in the preseason despite the fact that he had many mistakes.
If Leary can't play, I would expect Collins to get all snaps in the next game.
I would argue I merely "evaluated him" as opposed to "hyped him". He is really good. And the best option for the spot when he proves to pass all mental tests. I wrote this tonight at the Morning News - I think Collins is a significantly better talent than Bernadeau and already better than him. For that matter, I also think he is a better talent than Leary by a large margin, too. But, it is important for him to demonstrate that he is dependable and knows where to be and what to do. Leary has done that well and while he is not as strong a player, he is a better student of the game right now. As soon as Collins can ace those mental tests, he will be in the lineup each week. I thought he played quite well on Sunday and had no major issues. But, he had some minor ones and even went the wrong way on 1-2 zone plays. He has to get those out of his game quickly.
Pet cat might simply mean that after watching the OL all play 200+ college plays in the draft, he was the most impressive by a large margin.
