How could a Cowboys fan that pays any attention to the team not know that we have cap issues next year? We already are 30-40 million over the cap next year.

We are going to have to do restructures and we are going to have to make some significant cuts to get to the same situation this year.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Dez start arguing for his contract to be redone this coming year.

The way that the Cowboys structure contracts, it is always going to appear that they are way over the salary cap the following year. The reports coming into this offseason were that they were 40M over the cap, yet they kept Spencer on a Franchise tag and initially had Romo on the last year of his previous contract with a 16.8M cap hit. They also had the 5M "Mara" penalty this year.

This is a game of chicken between Free and Jerry and Free is winning. Free knows Jerry's Plan A is to resign him at a lower salary, but Free doesn't have to do a thing. Just wait until there are no viable starting tackles left and then Jerry has to keep him at current $7 million salary, or cut him and have no backup plan if Parnell flames out or Smith or Parnell gets hurt.

Yea, there were alot of difference sources saying alot of different things.

Point is, as fans, we don't really know what exactly the thought process of the organization was or who, if anyone, they really wanted most.
