and it made no sense, they didn't always get it right then and they don't always get it right now, the computers haven't changed that, at least now the top 2 ranked teams play each other every year. Hell of a lot better than before. Of course only a playoff makes sense, but that ain't happening anytime soon.

It makes plenty of sense...the fact is they still dont get the two best teams together for a championship game, that hasnt changed.

At least before there were compelling bowl matchups. Most of these today are not watchable. 6-6 teams shouldnt be in bowl games.

Maybe out of pity for the other team. He was crazy-lights-out.

Still, I don't have confidence in him at the next level.

too many bowl games don't have a damn thing to do with the BCS. At least with the BCS the two top ranked teams have to play each other, not some crap like #1 having to play in the Rose and # 2 having to play in the Cotton. In the old system Texas/USC never happens. Sure as hell ain't a playoff but better than what it was. Last year it would have been Florida- Sugar, OU- Orange and Texas- Cotton. No way Utah gets invited to one of those bowls.

Too many bowl games is just one of the reasons the college game sux...

The BCS sux because its rarely got it right...they dont match up the two best teams, they match up the two teams they feel like putting there, so in that sense its no different than it was before except its made worse by the corrupt nature of how they end up with that supposed #1 vs #2 game. Then you have teams that go to the other meaningless bowl games and give half arse efforts because they know it doesnt mean anything.

The BCS is garbage, if you dont think so thats fine, but you are in the vast minority.
