Henry's a great player - but he would not have fixed the many issues with this team. We,'d still have the same record wih him, but with less cap money going forward.
He would have made a huge difference this year with not just the offense, but the defense too by keeping them off the field longer. We are also not getting boat raced in the first half of every home game because a good RB slows the game too much for that to happen.

I'm beginning to ask myself. How much does Zimmer want McCarthy to survive? I don't understand what he's doing with this defense. It's not like him at all.
No coach can win without players, and our defensive line is literally the worst in the NFL with the recent injuries... And it wasn't very good even without them.

Zimmer sucks with any kind of players. His scheme is a dinosaur that should have went extinct in the Jurassic Period. He also cannot motivate players. Nobody offered him a job other than Jerry in 2024.

I'm not saying he's some transcendent talent as a coach, but he's solid enough.

What he can't do is overcome the complete spares we have in the trenches, just as most coaches couldn't.

How do you justify "solid"? It certainly can't be from his results. he's never won a conference title game as a HC or DC, and he's had more than enough time to do so.

He's been horrible as DC his entire time with Dallas (both tenures). Pattern recognition does not require psychic abilities to read the future. It's why I am right about these guys far more often than not.

Zimmer isn't the same guy he was in the Pickle Juice days. He's learned a lot since then. He had good defenses at Cincy and Minnesota.

Again, I'm not saying he's a Belichick or a LeBeau or a Phillips as a DC, but he's a good enough coach. Nobody could be very good with the sorry players he has, especially up front where it matters most.

How many of these problems this guy would have resolved

I know I'm beating a dead horse but .........damn
I think THIS is why Jerry is so salty and crumby these days. He now blew with Henry and is being reminded every Sunday

Really wanted him in the off-season.. cannot believe we signed Zeke again.

Better 4th downs
More points scored
Defense on the field less
Defense better rested
Playing with more leads, better for D
Much better redzones
Etc...

He practically begged Jerry for a contract........but, we couldn't afford him. As stated before, this blunder by Jerry is in Randy Moss territory

You don't know that! Henry would have at least kept defenses honest about the run game and that's more than we can say right now.

Where do you start to fix some of these.....otherwise, they are going to get worse.

I have said it now ten times. the reason for redzone issues are traced back to running game. when you can't run and teams don't respect your running game, then they drop into coverage and in a tight quarters inside the redzone, or inside the 10, then there are no passing lanes when LBs play off the ball and you have 7 drop into coverage and we still can't run the ball. fix the running game and redzone efficiencies go up significantly. unfortunately with Molasses Elliott and blind Dowdle we have no chance

less cap money? he cost 3M more than Zeke and btw, we have 23M remaining on the cap this year...so what cap problems? you all need to change that narrative because its not true....

its all broken down for you right here

we could afford him. easily. given we have 23M on the cap..

we didn't want to pay 3M extra....that goes straight into Jones' pocket.

Baltimore was number one in rushing last season even after all their running back injuries and no Derrick Henry. They are number one again this season. It may have more to do with their surrounding talent and scheme than Henry (whose YPC jumped from 4.2 to 5.9 from 2023). Maybe….

Henry and a thousand other running backs can be successful when surrounding talent is sufficient. Every running back not named Barry Sanders has needed that.

There's is one major problem and it contributes to all the other problems.

We all know what it is and that there's no way to fix it

Even after Jerry's gone there are so many Joneses in his wake to inherit and continue the ruination of this team that I can't even make an intelligent guess as to when we will be able to legitimately compete for a championship.

Glad I saw the best of cowboy football when we were the real Dallas Cowboys don't think I will ever live to see anything like that again.

Jerry and his horrible entitled family will see to that
the best of cowboys was the 70s. Did you see that?
