Super Bowl LIX Game Thread

I don't consider myself a eagles fan, but I do admire the way they can re tool their line up and wash away a bad year.

Had to look.

Since 2015 (not including playoffs)

Dallas is 93-71 (worst year 2015 went 4-12)
Philly is 97-66-1 (worst year 2020 went 4-11-12)

Here is the newsflash that everyone knows...

Philly won the superbowl in 2018. Had a horrible year in 2020. Went to the superbowl again in 2022, lost, had a major fart at the end of last season going 11-6 losing the last 6 of 7 games, and got blown out by the bucs in the first round playoffs losing 32-6.

Sound familiar about getting blown out in the first round?

Say what you will about Hurts arm and accuracy and how much he relies on the run, but the eagles paid him up front good money, and 2 years later the dude wins the superbowl.

Yes, the front office went out and helped the roster. BUT, he still won in the superbowl.

Have no clue what the future will bring any team going into next year, and I'm not a betting man, but if I was, my money wouldn't be on Jerry Jones being "all in" to win a superbowl. Jerry will be all in to keep the cowboys relevant in the season and be competitive.

The biggest MVP that philly has who never will win that award is Roseman.

I don't know nothing about being a millionaire football player and giving "discounts" vs getting top dollar for your services, but if I can play somewhere and be on a winning team, I'd sure in heck make a concession to play on a winning team vs playing on a mediocre or losing team, particularly if the team I was playing on is the team that helped revamped my career in the first place where I could earn more money.

yes to all the above - i could not believe how terrible the halftime show was. Despite the game being a blowout, it would have at least been nice to see a decent half time show...it was so bad. I like all kinds of music but that guy flat out sucked and it was just terrible.
that is simple, just dont watch it lol !
With the crap they have at halftime, I just take a break, turn tv off for 25 -30 min

It was a boring SB, once it got to 24-0 at the half.

yeah I would prefer rings over more $, as long as I was still getting paid good.
Howie is GM of the year.....again !
Hurt played his best game ever in the SB passing was good, and ran good.
Phil got it done and against a good team.
Although KC looked like they thought just stop barclay and they win ?? I think they didnt prepare in the right ways.
They should have ran more, even when behind. Mahomes had to pass too much against a great pass rush, so that was what phil
wanted them to do.

Where's that guy who's obsessed with Philthy and wants all their players and fans to get hurt and suffer for eternity, Mike something? This is for you bro, this is what you get for being weird and wishing harm upon others. These troglodytes get to celebrate and destroy their city while you cry yourself to sleep, enjoy. :muttley:

Been watching Super Bowls for longer than a lot of people alive.

People always complaining no matter who is performing. Can't say I've seen more than 5 minutes of any halftime show EVER without turning it off LOL (always record the game and before smart phones, just come back to see when it's back on and rewind if I missed anything).

Only regret was I didn't stay tuned into Janet and Justin.

There is something to be said for a Ma Duce for crowd control...

How would have known it was horrible if I hadn't watched it? Like I said I like all kinds of music and appreciate the show hence why I watched it.

And yes that was a boring superbowl for all except eagles fans...they could have done the Gatorade shower at half time

It wasn't until the first series of downs in the second half by the Chiefs when I thought their comeback magic wasn't going to work in this game.

I mean, I figured at least KC would make adjustments coming out of halftime, but they just played the worst game of their careers. Goes without saying they are going to have to work on their offensive line.

They were all drafted. Hunt is a rookie 3rd round pick.
You made me look.

Hunt played for the Houston Christian Huskies. Picked 94th in the draft. Apparently Hunt was the first player out of that school ever picked up in the NFL draft.

We all know Roseman is good at his job, but the grunts working under Roseman finding these guys bringing them to their teams attention has to be doing a remarkable job.

Jerry needs to take notes. Common sense dictates that good players want to play for someone who wants to make a superbowl run. The question becomes if winning means just having a winning season or winning means making a superbowl run... I do think this is where winning playoff games breeds success if the team can stay on top of their players. I mean what kid coming out of college wouldn't want to play for the Chiefs under Andy Reid?

That said, perhaps it's just luck who picks who and how the players play out. Did come across this third party read on the 2024 draft. We all know hindsight is a perfect science LOL. Did find it interesting where they rated the cowboys...

Looks like fun.

We spend on a couple of players and then act like we are in the early 30’s depression and they can get things done like there is no salary cap at all, it’s called good football people running the show and the owner just sits back and stay out the d— way like a team should be ran.

I asked my 10 year nephew if he knew what an encyclopedia was

He said: is that something on Wikipedia?

I had to explain to him what they were (tools to plagiarize history essays from back in my day)
I had a guy come to my house selling encyclopedias. I still have the whole set in my old bedroom. Funny, I used to use them for some homework assignments in the 70s. I probably have things stashed between the pages, still.

With Philly, looking at the city after a major sporting event, you have no clue if the city won or lost LMAO
I'll tell you it wasn't bad. They only had something like 20 arrested and no deaths. In Philadelphia they have more deaths on a normal day. Some kids unscrewed greased light posts and carried them around. Philadelphia thought if they greased them up people couldn't climb them. Instead they just took them down and carried them around. Next time they win something they need to put locking nuts on so they can't be unscrewed. LOL

One other thing winning does bring out...

Doesn't make your FA picks look to bad or people don't concentrate on how they weren't really productive.

Roseman can do no wrong, but they picked some clunkers this year that really didn't turn out like they wanted. That said, you need to go out and get more than just a couple to have some actually work out like you planned because you can never pick 100% right all the time not knowing the future.

A good deep is more touch then strong arm? Huhh?
I guess when the ball "only" travels 50 yards in the air - becoming a perfect TD pass - you have a "weak arm"... Some people need to delude themselves into thinking a player is "bad" when what they really want to say is "Damn, I wish my team had a player like that..."
