I think kevin Williams just got facemasked 3 times on that reception. The last one almost ripped his head off.

GD there was some hitting in this game. The level of physicality between then and now is startling.

That's a TD. These guys are idiots.
That's the one thing I noticed. Lots of hitting and lots of downfield push offs. Just physical.

In so many ways the game was better then. Teams were better and none of the panty waist rules had been enacted.

BUT you could see the cracks in the Boys. depth, and some starters not as good as we had had before. Also, as Nate mentioned, discipline was starting to disapear and sooner or later that will come back to hurt.

And in spite of that, 10 of the regular season wins and all 3 postseason wins were by double digits

That team had quite a few injuries that yr too...losing Ray Donaldson late (who was having an all pro season) really hurt because Derek Kennard was not very good at that point...Darrin Smith held out for about half the yr and never looked like the same player again...of course we lost Kevin Smith in week one, and Deion didnt begin starting games till right around mid season..only Tony Tolbert started all 16 games in the front 7...in fact only 3 Dallas starters started all 16 games...Tolbert, Woodson and Marion...offensively, WR Kevin Williams never developed as hoped as a legit #2 guy...he scored only 2 tds all yr (and both of those were in the final game vs Arizona)

It wasnt as good as the 92 or 93 teams, but it was still a very good team

I watched this Super Bowl with my older brother & a friend of ours who was a crybaby 49ers fan. Once the game got tight, he started laughing & saying "This is so great. The Cowboys are about to lose to the Steelers." We called him a "Moron" & a few mins later laughed in his face as our boys hoisted up another trophy.

Yeah it was a good team= but I bet the 93 team would have beaten them by 2 TDs. Actually, when you think about it, FA was already starting to dilute the best teams by 95. Its only when you compare them to the teams of 91-94 that it became clear. Denver and Green Bay would be the next teams to suffer. And frankly after Denver the only team that really was top of the line was the 99-01 Rams. And they were not as good as the teams of only 5 years earlier.

:lmao:

Calling him only a moron was too nice. I can think of a couple other things to call him.

Back when football was football. Not flag football.

Serious hitting in that game from both teams. One of the most physical SBs ever. I'm just glad we won a physical SB game against the hated Steelers.

Those guys dealt me a lot of sadness in the 70s.

Its on again.

I get almost no happiness from this game. Deion Sanders then and now irritates me to a level I cant even explain. Every win was bitter sweet for me that year. IMO there is nothing likeable about sanders.

This is one of the games I have never really watched all that much.

You know that catch on the post brought you out of your seat.

Witten and Novacek have the same body language after big plays they make.

That was a sweet *** pick, lol. Novacek would have been open anyway, but that pick was phenomenal.

They praised Darren Woodson alot, but he got absolutely abused when they spread the defense out in this game.

I can only imagine how the current crowd of Cowboys fans would have reacted to this.

Actually like I said, much like owens now its a bitter sweet thing. I am happy for the team but loathe the player, particularly sanders.

Please dont compare witten and novacek to sanders, that is laughable at best. I have never seen either dance after routine plays, constantly disrespect their teammates and opponents or just flat out call attention to themselves for the sole intent of calling attention to themselves.

I compared Witten and Novacek to each other, not Sanders. That's what the paragraph break was for, to talk about something different. ;)

Oh woops it went over my head on that. I couldnt in a million years figure out why you would compare them and that makes sense.

They are pretty similar. I think witten is bigger and the better athelete though. Cant go wrong with either guy. Its fun rooting for witten on sundays.

Novacek was under rated and vital to the team. But Witten is in a league of his own as far as I am concerned. this year he got so much better as a blocker that he is by far the most complete TE in the game.

Haley was running on fumes at that point in his career. The bad back had taken away his explosiveness. We looked like a team that was at the end of our run.

If Jimmy had stayed around we might have continued drafting enough young talent to keep us going, but with Switzer and Lacewell guiding Jerry through the draft we were in trouble.
