The Philadelphia Eagles have won 3 NFL Championships! But many fan (everywhere) will say ...

- Championships back then were not as important as the Supebowl
Championships of today.

- They'll tell you that football players back then weren't as talented, not
as tough and not as big as they are now. In a nutshell they minimize
those accomplishments of the past.

- Technology has allowed players to maximize their strengths and skills on
the playing field

- Championship games back then don't count anymore because too
much time has lapsed.

Yet ...Superbowl dynasties seem to hold more esteem than Championships of those NFL pioneers. But couldn't the same argument be used for Lombardi recipients of the 80s and 90s.

What happened to football dynasties? Are players so evenly distributed throughout the NFL that competition, and match-ups are factors in having one team dominate. Was it easier to obtain Superbowl championships when a team is loaded up with playmakers, and giants of the past.

The Dolphins went undefeated, the Cowboys, Patriots, and Steelers are teams that hold the prestigious right to be call "Dynasties." Will the NFL ever see another dynasty? Or will an NFL dynasty become a thing of the past?

What team will rise up as NFL Dynasty in 2006 ...and Beyond. Could It be a foreign team like England, Canada, Mexico, ? Or will those team's of "old" step back up and claim their rightful place as a dynasty.

All you have to know is ....... that it will never be the Eagles ....

;)

seeing as how the patriots have made themselves a salary cap dynasty, and have the ability to extend that on sunday there could certainly be another one. Saying who is impossible, but there is no reason that it can't happen

ummm you know when I was in little league I won a ton of trophies, matter of fact we won the best team in the universe on many occasion. The thing is the best team in the universe was made up and long long ago in my past, so I don't really bring it up anymore.

something for you to think about.

Back when Moby Dick was a guppie!

Back when Col. Sanders was a Private...

Back in the Ice Age...

Yeah, the eagles...boy, oh, boy...what a team, huh, zrinkill?

Whatever helps you sleep at night.

Your team hasn't won any real championships. With the league as tiny as it was in the 20s, 30s, and 40s sheer chance means you should have won at least two in that era, which is all you happened to win.

How many teams were there around then...eight or so? I know it was not many...

no, since the game is still called the Super Bowl, the trophy is still called the Lombardi, there is still the NFC, and still the AFC conferences, all headed by an NFL comissioner

Seriously....what does this have to do with anything? I think it's a little ridiculous that the NFL's current dynasty only exists because of instant replay and FG kicker, but that's what it is now. You need lucky breaks.

Is this really an argument? Is this what it's come to for Eagles fans?

Look, if I was an Eagles fan (God help me), I'd stop trying to measure my proverbial shtick with the rest of the NFL and be happy with the success my team has had in the past six or so years. Who cares if you haven't won any Super Bowls? Yeah, it's a fun thing to rub in your face every now and again, but ultimately what does that mean? It means people who came before you didn't have as much to root for as you do now. What a travesty.

So please, chill. The fact that Garthia led them as far as he did should ease your frazzled nerves at least for the off-season. You don't have to deal with a botched snap running through your mind for the next eight months.

During the 30s and 40s there were about 10 teams. That means that the Eagles should have won at least once every 10 years.

they weren't as talented but they were alot tougher than the guys playing now

If the Patriots win this year without Vinetari I'm prepared to call them a dynasty and drop my claim that they are faux champions.

If they win this year, they would be the greatest NFL dynasty in history.

If they win this year they tie the Steelers with 4 in 6 years.
