I think he meant that there wouldn't have time for a fg if it was incomplete.

He's saying if you run a fade and it's incomplete, you just screwed yourself out of a FG... because no time will be left. But if you throw a quick throw and it's incomplete, chances are 1 or 2 seconds are left and you can get a FG.

Why call a timeout? Game clock stops if it's incomplete.
