I don't know what you mean by "their charitable designation" but the Kaepernick case is not going to consider any of the unrelated lawsuits. (My suspicion is you think the NFL is designated as a charity because they used to have status as a non-profit entity, but even that no longer applies as the NFL got rid of their non-profit designation 2 years ago)
The main reason I have no doubt the CBA is safe is because the process to invalidate a CBA would take years of arbitration, appeals, court filings, more appeals, etc. This current CBA only has 4 years left anyway, and a proceeding to invalidate it would take at least that long if one particular side were interested in dragging the whole thing out.
This is what I meant and thank you for the clarification. I am curious as to why they got rid of that 2 years ago. I vaguely remember there being talk about them violating antitrust laws? Could that be at play? Bottom line IMO all these lawsuits are just not a good look.
