Is Neman even our 2nd best corner at this stage of his career? Mike Jenkins has been become our #1 cb...with Scandrick #2 in my opinion.

Yes Newman made several plays. We have three good corners, people get over your agendas and enjoy a win.

ok i can tell you barely watch the games, and just go by stats...because you would see that Newman had a great Game, get the Manningham TD and Marshall TD out of your head..dude is a good corner

not the best..but is still at least a clear top 8 corner in the league

You are correct - Jenkins #1, Scandrick #2 and TNew #3. TNew is still good but he has lost a step and doesn't have the closing speed that he used to have. When you combine that with his lack of ball awareness, you have a recipe for a player in decline.

The only knock on Newman is that he doesn't get much interceptions, but as far as coverage goes theres only a few corners, maybe 2 or 3 that I would pick over him.

I'd say Jenkins has outplayed him a few weeks this year.
I'd agree with this.

Newman's had some OK games to Jenkins spectacular games. I just wonder how necessary it is to rank them on the team.

I think we should turn on Scandrick before we turn on Newman.

Before doing any of that, though, it's important to get our 'my bad re: Jenkins not being a big soft after all' posts out of the way. 'Boy, this is some crow I'm sure enjoying eating!' is how they should start, or some variant of that. Then just a quick backhand reference to how much Jenkins has improved, actually, and the implication that maybe we weren't so wrong about him after all. Then we move on to slagging on one of the other CBs the night of a big win. Newman, Scandrick, I don't really care as long as somebody's getting devalued in light of how well Jenkins played tonight.

Yea, Scandrick was awesome today. His coverage on Gonzalez on that third down play was just brilliant.

I think if Newman lined up 10 times against Austin, TNew would best Austin 6 times, while Austin would win 6 times against Jenkins. Jenkins still has a lot to learn and Newman is the best tackling/run support DBs we have ever had.

I like it when people make it this easy to put them on ignore....no wavering...just 'BAM! I say stupid ****. Please ignore me!"

thanks.

Jenkins is finally having an impact, while Scandrick is starting to pick up his game. TNew does appear to have lost a step, but he's still a good corner.

Having Sensabaugh back there definitely helps...much more than K Hamlin.

A year ago when Jenkins avoided making that tackle against the Giants I never thought I would say this but:

Mike Jenkins is just simply out playing Newman at this point. He is giving big hits, solid tackles and picks here and there. Newman has seen Jenkins taking over and even tried to step up and start laying some good hits himself today. Newman has never shyed away from tackles but he has never been a big hitter. I hope that maybe Jenkins can push Newman to try harder all of the time because it will only make the secondary better.

It seems that over the last few weeks we have gotten a new #1 Corner and a new #1 Receiver. This is nothing to take personally its just the better players making plays and that helps the team.

Was Hamlin actually out there today? He wasn't in the view of the camera most of the day today. Given that he is normally there while he is being burned on a pass or whiffing on a tackle, that was a good thing.

I can't wait until the offseason when we can his *** and re-sign Sensabaugh.

AND he gets flat footed and BURNED every other game, Plays poorly as a punt returner and is quickly becoming a liability for the cowboys, I say start the new guys and make newman earn the job....NEWMAN is COMPLACENT and needs to feel what it is like to be a back up for a while....

Start the young guys and build around them...NEWMAN is the past..

Newman had a tough 1st quarter, otherwise he played great after that....
