Fair enough but you name me one corner in this league that doesn't have safety over the top and that's a corner in a horrible pass offense. Even Revis from the JETS has safety help. I've never seen a corner not get help from his safety.

I don't understand it either. I can see after a poor game but after today? He beat Roddy White and did a solid job of it.

How did you not see him losing 10 yards on a PUNT return, then two weeks ago week he let the ball fly over his head and land inside the 5yard line..are these veteran mistakes.....just as QB's are targeting him...they have seen the film.... they left him get lazy then target him...catching him flat footed.....and COMPLACENT....

I don't give a damn what he did as a punt returner. I'm not judging him on that. I'm judging him at corner. I don't care how many times he was targeted. We targeted Champ Baily over 8 times. Does that mean he's a bum? That's your gameplan. You give the ball to your best receiver. So of course Roddy White is gonna get targeted. He was targeted 11 times and had 6 catches for 50 yards. Are you kidding me? Are we seriously going to do the weekly bash Newman this week? Not this week. You have no grounds. You have nothing to stand on. And if you want to see some bad corners go look at Grimes and Houston over in Atlanta who their fans just despise. They'd love to have Newman.

Gotta separate special teams play from cornerback play. They're not one and the same.

Special teams play = awful. I agree with those that they should end the experiment or go back to only using him in special circumstances.

CB play = B. Roddy White made some catches, but Atlanta wasn't exactly going up and down the field on Newman either.

ok i can tell you barely watch the games, and just go by stats...because you would see that Newman had a great Game, get the Manningham TD and Marshall TD out of your head..dude is a good corner

Did you not see the first TD of the game? Horrible coverage by Newman. That being said, I still think he's good CB, but NOT top 8 in the league by any means.

Newman never has been or will be a Elite corner.. However he is steady and has been a true Cowboy.. I was on the I want Asante bandwagon. It seems that tnew has lost his explosion to the ball.. Jenkins has it and so does Scandrick..

hamlin was our last line of defense on the deep ball.

we iddnt get beat deep (that is what atlanta does best this year)

newman got beat twice. big deal. it happens.

he is still a top flight corner.

Is Neman even our 2nd best corner at this stage of his career? Mike Jenkins has been become our #1 cb...with Scandrick #2 in my opinion.

Zoners:

I have slowly noticed something that is a very good thing for our DEFENSE at the CB position

Jenkins is our #1 playmaker ......and what I mean is making plays on the football and coming out of his breaks.......and he is over not making tackles and hitting hard (ref last yr Balt game) the kid is our #1 cb.

Scandrick is slowly moving into our #2 playmaker......did you see his leaping catch? He is a good tackler and many people (coaches) believe he is the most talented.

Newman, (Pro Bowler) is starting to work his way into our #3 cb slot......he gets beat more often then not......breaks late on the WR and ball.....needs help to tackle most of the time (he did have one great hit today)......I am not saying this in a bad way......it is just a FACT! Zoners this is a good thing.....Newman our 3rd BEST cb on the team!

Newman and RW are overrated but we need them to succeed. Newman plays way to soft at times and with poor technique but he did step up and play better as the game moved along. Losing 30 yards on a punt return didn't help matters.
