What a classless comment.
Unbelievable.
I'd drop that gold-digger beeeyotch like a bad habit.

Forget his friends, fans and family... he's got "25 million reasons not to commit suicide".

what a trick.

Yeah, I found that comment to be totally classless, too. Couldn't believe she said that. What a HORRIBLE ending to an otherwise fine press conference refuting these reports.

TO doesn't seem to surround himself with the most media-savvy folks. Between her comment and Rosenhaus' debacle of a press conference last year.

Agreed. Those comments were in very bad taste.

I chalk it up to her being up for some 24 hours straight... or at least she looked that way, judging by the huge bags under her eyes in the PC.

I said this in another thread, but I think she did say TO tried to commit suicide.
I think she basically panicked when he appeared to be unconscious, tried to sweep his mouth (like most people would do if they suspected someone had overdosed) and then told the rescue squad that he downed too many pills.

I think she honestly responded to questions asked of her about whether TO was depressed, not understanding how this situation and that question would look later or how it would be interpreted.

Generally speaking, rescue personnel have to ask those questions, and I truly think she didn't handle the situation as well as she could have.

If he fires her in the foreseeable future, I'm going to suspect this was the case.

Simply put, I think she panicked and is not as media-savvy as one would expect from a publicist.

Me too.

I LOVED that snide remark. Certainly, it wasn't exactly spiritual....as "he has people who love him and whom he loves" would have been.

But I read it as a sneer at those whom Joe Namath used to call "100 dollar a week sports-writing creeps".

Certainly, the point was made that those who are less accomplished are once again in the position to re-write reality with a mean-spirited flavor.

I found it to be an ignorant statement.

Denying depression and such by saying money solves it. That is the most ignorant thing I have ever heard, and showed a total ignorance of understanding of mental health. Just plain dumb.

I look at it as he being frustrated and firing back at the media. I mean she has been called a liar and stuff by the media, plus she is probally tired as hell. I don't think he will fire her, I bet they have a pretty good freindship also.

Agreed.

I think folks in this thread are taking that comment way too seriously, then again some folks might think any jokes associated with "suicide" are off base.

I think the past 24Hrs are a perfect example of why I call them Mediots.

I'm not typically one that gets up in arms over PC stuff.

I just thought it was dumb to essentially suggest his money is the best reason he has to live.

I'm sure the man has a lot more positive things going on than his bank account.

I said this in another thread. Anyone who is a professional in media relations should know you don't throw out the "everyone's picking on T.O." line and you don't talk about how much money your client makes.

That was stupid! I will give her this, however, she admitted she has been up all night and her head was probably very foggy. Even with that said it was a stupid PR move.

I'm not that mad, it was just a dumb statement. Money doesn't mean that much at all. Rich people commit suicide also. I know she was just taking a shot back, but at least her jab could be true.

I don't think she was saying 25 mil is Owens' reason to live, Dale.

I think she was saying he's got 25 million more reasons to live than you suckers do, so lay off and believe.

Seriously, she struck me as a VERY tough cookie. (which is what she'd have to be to represent Owens. Mo milquetoasts need apply.

You guys should give her a little bit more credit for coming up with these things in the spur of the moment. I mean the reference to Owens "as a man of his statue" while referring to Terrel being passed out in front of her was brilliant. Pure genius if you ask me. :lmao2:
