T-Will has to change his ways

Well maybe that's the difference. I don't trust T-Will, and Beasley is limited in what he can do. The presence of Dez makes these guys better. I didn't say that the season is done, but it sure doesn't help us in any of these games that he's out. I'm hoping that he will be back in 4 weeks. I think that Tony will be able to move the ball somewhat against some of these teams, but I think it will be very difficult to get consistent TD's in the redzone. Thankfully, Tony bailed the team out and pulled this W out because I think we'd be in a lot of trouble losing to that Giants team along with the Dez injury. Maybe I'm off base here, or just to much of a Dez supporter, but I'm more pessimistic at this point until he can return.

I think Dez is great but I think Williams, Beasley, Witten and others are capable of players with or without Dez. Romo did bail us out but he was not throwing to himself and these guys made plays without Dez being some sole focus.

We'll just have to wait and see. I think the Giants are an awful team with no pass rush whatsoever and horrific linebacker play, if Tony will have the amount of time to sit in the pocket as he did last night, then I will side with you.

This will help him and the others step up and solidify their roles. I expect Escobar to be utilized more. Then when Dez gets back we will be that much better.

Never said it was going to be easy but yes I have faith in this team that they will fight and win games. Defense I feel will also be a big part of it by holding opposing offense down. Last night NY TD were coming off offensive screw ups. I also think Williams is a capable player with Dez in the lineup and without Dez in the lineup. he did not make it to the NFL because of Dez he made because he does have talent in his own right

Williams can catch away from his body. How would he have made the third down catch in Seattle otherwise?

How often is that though? I never seen him hual in a pass over his head, or aggressively attack the ball while having a corner on him in mid air. He won't or can't go up to make the play

Williams only had 1 drop. On the the other 2 the defender got his hands on the ball to prevent the catch.

On the 1 true drop Romo needed to lead him more but couldn't because of a 2nd defender. The camera angle makes it difficult to see it.

Yeah, I'm not rooting against him. It's just he will have tighter coverage, and him extending his play to being able to raise up and fight for the ball will help tremendously

Which makes him so much easier to cover. Yes Micahel and Randy caught the ball with their bodies when it was needed but otherwise it was all hands. I threw this in there because the popular rebuttal was michael irvin used his body to catch.

Exactly my point......

Twill will be fine
Dez he is not but he gets open and scores and the so called body catching is way over blown

I wouldn't single him out, he kept us in the game. Street and Beasley both fumbled and Dez dropped an easy one that cost us a first down.

Oh I agree, he stepped up and got open when we needed him to. I'm more concerned when Tony needs a lay made in tight coverage when the pass won't be perfect. What will happen then?

I thought I read somewhere a while ago that coaches were trying to work with him on this? That's why I'm saying and hoping there can be some type of change. Doesn't have to be Dez level, but just extend a little more and fight a little more

They said he's improved at catching away from his body but his hands are smaller which limits him. He did have some clutch catches last year in tight coverage, I think the Seahawks game was one of them.

No bady is saying he can't catch with his hands when he has no choice but if given the opportunity he will let it get to his body more than a hands catcher. Back int he 90's speed was king as WR today take two WR witht he same metrics but one is not a natural catcher and the other is, hands catcher will get drafted before body catcher almost every time.

I pointed that out as well in the past. It may not seem like much, but the extra time it takes for the ball to go into his stomach and for him to gain control gives the defender time to close in and tackle him. The pass play McFadden had when he hit the edge and the one where Randle caught it with one hand show how many damage you can do when you catch the ball with your hands on the run.

I think he was nervous. He looked much better in the 4th quarter coming up with some good catches. I think the entire team was off, others get a pass cause they are more likeable and don't fit in the agenda
