Take a breath

Think Booger will sell the team? The root of the problem is at the top of the tree.

Is that a serious question? Not on your life.

The problem does start at the top but Jerry's having a blast and his kids are set for life. The Jones family will still own the team after we are dead.

I'm disappointed at the realization that MM's Febreze is going to take more than a week to drown out the Jerry/Garrett stench.

And we may just find out in a couple of years it doesnt work at all.

I bought the hype yet again and feel foolish.

Blowing out Atlanta at home isn't going to do much toward making me feel that this isnt still a Garrett team.

Jerry had to keep his puppet in the making in Moore, and MM "did what he had to do" to get the job.

This team hasn't changed as much as fans want to believe because of the coaching change. That first game looked like more of the same. There are reasons for that.

Seems just as toxic and hateful as it has been the past couple years.

What's "toxic and hateful" about being frustrated when the teams fails? No one here is related to the Jones family. No one in the Jones family loses sleep over how anyone on this board feels.

We are customers. When we're sold an inferior product we demand better. It's not personal. It's strictly business.

What happens here goes beyond frustrated the team loses. It is overwhelming a place to argue and push personal agendas to the point it is dang near impossible to have a good discussion about the team. It’s the internet though and a picture of a rock on a social site will generate the same type of constant bickering.

It's all about expectations and a lack of respect for the Rams. They've got just as good, better on D, talent as the Cowboys and a damned good HC. Those were two evenly matched teams but some can't accept that.

Accept the blame yourselves if you thought this team was going to come roaring out of the gate. You thought they were better but it's their fault and all of the these coaches and players should be jettisoned?

You whiners need to manage your own expectations and this team has nothing to do with the last 25 years. I get it and understand there needs to be some venting over a loss but that becomes whining by Wednesday.

Hell, if some of you are this whacked out after one game, why do you even follow this team? This is football. The Eagles, Niners, Bucs and Vikings fans were disappointed and probably expected a win too. As fans, we are not owed a damned thing. They played hard but the other team was just a little better, get over yourself.
Bravo. This is exactly right.

Yep. Anyone over reacting to a week,1 loss (by 3 points) to a team that is well coached and was in the super bowl less than 2 years ago, is simply not grounded in the reality of the NFL. Particularly after a non-existent off season with an all new coaching staff and many new starters.

It would be humorous to watch if it didn’t completely over take this site where actual football should be discussed.

Disappointing game Sunday, no doubt …

And so far on this site we have had calls to bench Dak, fire Kellen Moore and trade Jaylon Smith & D-Law (while there is still a chance!).

And there have been threads started expressing disappointment that Lamb and Zeke didn't do more (even though both had good games - especially Zeke), and some have indicated they have given up on McCarthy and/or the team.

Again, disappointing game, and of course we would like to have seen more changes in the offense, and a more stingy defense, and more from a few players, but let's not get hysterical. It's still just one game, and one that came after a coaching change, no OTAs and a very short training camp with no preseason games to help implement changes.

Maybe the team will suck this year, or maybe pull together and get into the playoffs, or maybe even do well in the playoffs. What's certain though is time will be what tells, not one game.
Good job, Dad, for listing all the things we hate.
(All the kids hate you)

It really seems the majority of people want to be proven right about whatever stance they have taken more than they want the team to win. And maybe they do care about the team winning more than their personal agendas, but it certainly doesn’t come across in the postings.

The posts are dripping with “my opinion is right, yours is wrong” rather than just having a discussion about the team. Differences of opinions are not respected, rather they are ridiculed..

And I am just as guilty as everyone else. Just playing the game that is played here. I just don’t see this week being any different than what normally occurs. It’s not a place to come together as fans to discuss the team. It’s a place to argue about the team.

That's why it's shocking. Quickness and footwork get you open, not speed and agility.
You really find it "shocking" that Jarwin might be considered an upgrade as a receiver over a 38 year old Witten?

By the way, speed and agility do help get a person open, as well as footwork. A person may know the footwork, but if the footwork is lumbering from lack of agility, or they move at the speed of a snail it doesn't matter.

That is precisely the way that I see it too. Opinions are stated as fact and not only are you ridiculed for having a differing opinion, but often called flat out dumb.

When someone is pressed about if they know 100% that their view is correct, they admit that they don’t, Yet they act like there is no way they could be wrong, and push their point like their life depends on it.

The worst thing, like you mention, is the agendas that people push. I swear, some people would rather see failure of the team than be wrong about a player, a coach, or whatever they’ve guessed at.

Some of those people will tell you that’s what this forum is for, to argue about “The team we all love”. But it is for much more than just that.

It’s toxic, really.

Don’t like a player? He’s trash. Don’t like the Jones’? Then Mike McCarthy is “Fat Mikey” and you don’t want him to succeed. Players, coaches, owners, NFL Office personnel; they’re all fair game to be literally called anything that isn’t flat out profane... but that is because this is a family forum, not because it isn’t right to call a player a human garbage dumpster who sucks at his job and ought to be delivering pizza, but is too stupid.

As if that player can’t be on the forum and isn’t a person just like the posters here. Knowing the poster would be quite different to the face of that player.

The truth is though, that it isn’t just this place, it is just people in general on the internet. It’s probably simply human nature combined with anonymous opinion.

I will end it with this: You’re completely right about how it changes posters here and how people start arguing just like everyone else. Having been here since it opened in 2004, there are posters that I’ve seen completely change from a positive person who is respectful of other’s opinions, to someone who is now the complete opposite of that.

It’s a shame but I’m afraid that it, like on all social media, is simply human nature.

Yes, it is absurd to judge a new coaching staff base on 1 game.

A new coaching staff is really somewhat of an unknown until their 2nd season with the team.

Some new staffs have immediate success if everything falls into place with the roster.

Some new staffs had losing seasons in year 1 but go on to have significant success in following seasons.

With no real off-season and no pre-season games a new coaching staff is at a huge disadvantage.

take 5 breaths!

this place is insane and its one game, its football game, just a sport, not life and the fact that we even have sports back to watch and debate about should be good enough to take a few steps back,..

MM deserves a shot to adjust and make changes , teach etc..takes a unfolding of season to do that like 4-6 games to find a rhythm find out what works with these players and coaches....

dang people this isn't life or death stuff, its entertainment and being critical of the game is normal, thats debates we all get into but to the depth this place has fallen, is sad, its flat sad..

im as passionate as they come about the Dc but the threads after game 1 are insane , most are simply emotional outbursts with true logic and purpose..

Heck, if we had to stomach Garrett for 9 years, surely we can give MM at least 2 or 3 seasons.

"Fire Kellen Moore" might be the dumbest comment that I've seen.

If the offense struggles Mike McCarthy put more and more of his offense into the game plans.

Without or without success in 2020 it was always likely that by 2021 the offense would implement far more of McCarthy's offense.

In Parcells 1st season with the Cowboys, they kept Mike Zimmer's 4-3 defense.
- They were 10-6 that season.
- The defense was #1 in total yards (i.e. allowed the least yards of all defenses).
- The defense was #2 in points allowed.

Parcells still switched to his 3-4 by 2005.

well sure but one game lol i say 10-16 will give us a good snapshot on what we have as team and a staff..

it will give fans a way to judge Garetts regime and the way he adjusted or not adjusted to injuries' and being down and having to come back and salvage season plus if we make the layoffs how netter prepared we are for those types of games..

Ah yes, that's our first game against Garrett, isn't it?

That depends largely on whom you care to engage with.
