Is this the kind of move that puts us over the top? Is this a Charles Haley kind of move?

I believe this is the only guy we were gonna spend for in FA until he got franchised.

After his arrest now I wonder if the Panthers will be interested. But I wonder if this is the kind of bold move that can cause a lot of backlash but put a team over the top. Let's say trade a 3rd? Or a 2nd even. Of course you'd have to rework the contract to lower the cap hit. Maybe a Melton kind of deal.

If the price was right, he would make a big difference on this defense. It.'s not happening though.

The Panthers would want way more than a 2nd (arrest or no arrest) and he would want way more than a Melton deal as well.

This is something you do when you have a lot of talent on your team, but want to shore up a weakness you might have. This is what Seattle did with Percy Harvin. We are talent poor. We should never trade resources for singular talent. Period.

I think a trade for Coples (Jets) or Dion Jordan (Dolphins) may be more doable. But I am in favor of making an aggressive move to get more talent on DL. Still regretting not moving up for Donald.

The Cowboys really avoid these types of guys. I'm still waiting for the benefits.

Talent poor? I severely disagree.

If you add Greg Hardy to this D-line, you wouldn't be able to name one position group on this team, other than safety, than you'd consider talent poor.

Heck, you'd be hard pressed to find one that wouldn't be top 7 in the league after you add a D-line like Crawford, Mcclain, Melton, Hardy. With guys like Selvie, Mincey and Lawrence and maybe Spencer backing them up.

And as opposed to the other guys on the D-line that are Left DEs and possible nickel DTs, he's a Right DE that also played some DT on passing downs.

Not a fan of guys who beat up their girlfriend.

I am thinking we are about 10 players away from being in the Charles Haley situation. We aint even close. Hell, I dont know if we get by filthy for the division. Cant even spell "souper boll" at this point. I would be happy with a solid Oline showing up, 10 wins and a playoff loss so long as we are looking like a football team and not looking like we are waiting for Free Agency and the draft again.

I wouldn't mind Justin Blackmon. Yes I said it. Let him come here cheap, if he screws up we release him.

10 players away? Please name the positions.

I mean why even tune in?

I proposed signing hardy last season as the panthers were preparing to franchise him.

Now? No way. It's one thing to sign a potential character risk guy, it's another thing to jump in after the bomb has detonated. Remember, RKG aren't popular simply for the fact they're good PR for an organization, they also don't miss time on the field due to stupid off field issues.

If dallas is not anywhere close to a superbowl (and judging based on last season, they aren't close to being a contender), then it wouldn't make sense to take on a guy like greg hardy when he's no sure bet.

Angry drunk that hits women? Would need to look long and hard but Richardson is conservative enough that he may fire sale him.

He just got franchised so he is probably cost prohibitive so it may be a moot point.
