Why trade a draft pick for a guy we can't sign long term? Hardy makes the defense better but you have to remember Dez is going to need a contract, So is Tyron Smith. I don't know that Dallas could or would want to strap themselves locking big money up with 3 guys... just my opinion maybe I'm wrong but I don't see it.

Why not. Three young all pro caliber guys. Just think, if Hatcher was 26 we woulda payed him at all costs.

I look more at the allocation of the resources. You can pay 2 guys on the 4 man front (the 3 and the right DE preferably), 2 or 3 guys on the O- line, one WR etc. Esp when you'll be getting Crawford and Lawrence on the cheap for the next couple of years regardless of how they blossom.

Is this the kind of move that puts us over the top? Is this a Charles Haley kind of move?

I believe this is the only guy we were gonna spend for in FA until he got franchised.

After his arrest now I wonder if the Panthers will be interested. But I wonder if this is the kind of bold move that can cause a lot of backlash but put a team over the top. Let's say trade a 3rd? Or a 2nd even. Of course you'd have to rework the contract to lower the cap hit. Maybe a Melton kind of deal.

Doesn't he have pending gun/assault charges? We could also get Aaron Hernandez for next to nothing right now. What do you guys think? Maybe even Aldon Smith!!!
