Dak throws to the open receivers, he's not a gunslinger like Romo who'll risk throwing picks to come up with some big plays. Beasley's role has been the same the past 3 seasons and he and Dak have developed some good chemistry because he gets open and is reliable. It was about moving the chains back in 2014 but Dez provided a big play threat with Romo. Dak isn't going to give him the jump ball opportunities that Romo did. Dez seems to only be able to run one or two routes and most throws to him are contested. A good rushing attack and and an efficient QB is exactly what Dez excelled with in 2014.
He has the same situation in 2016 with Zeke and Dak. There's been several situations where Dak and Dez weren't on the same page, we saw a play like that last week. Witten continues to produce and Beasley has become more productive every year, but only Dez's production has taken a major hit due to injuries, drops and not being able to get open. The running game has opened up pass catching opportunities for a number of receivers including Butler, even Escobar got into the act last week with a TD. We need a FAST receiver who can stretch the field, that's all we lack offensively.
