Ncaa record books award O.U. with 9 other National championships 1949,53,57,67,73,78,80,86 and 2003 O.U however does not recognize these as they are not A.P or Bcs
41 conference championships
#2 most points scored in football history with 60 less games than #1

Dude listen. Im fully aware of your 7 National Championships.

3 in the 1950's.. Before there were even Superbowls.... Congrats.. Who cares?

Do I really need to get into how big of a cheat your school is or do you just want to get hammered?

“By the mid-1950s, the NCAA enforcement division had quite a large file on this illegal activity at OU. [OU president] Cross made two trips to Kansas City, hoping to dissuade executive director Walter Byers. But Byers was having nothing to do with it, citing boxes of letters accusing Oklahoma of operating a slush fund.” – Jim Dent, The Undefeated

“As the rumors swirled about dirty laundry, [OU president] Cross called [OU coach] Wilkinson into his office and asked if money was changing hands. Wilkinson admitted that some players had been paid, that the ticket business was healthy. But he pointed out that Oklahoma was an equal opportunity employer—linemen as well as backs and end were reaping the benefits.” – Jim Dent, The Undefeated

I mean come on.

criticising teams from the 50s for paying their players is just plain dumb. Just about every major football school was doing it back then. If you think OKlahoma was bad, you ought to look at some of the southern schools like Georgia, Ole Miss, etc. It was really NOT thought to be wrong back then by a lot of people.

College Footballs atomosphere= the students, bands, cheer leaders, alumni, etc really cannot be beat. I question whether a playoff system really would make it better; the shear uncertainty is part of it as well. BY the end of the season usually only 3-5 teams are thinking about the NC anyway- there are HUNDREDS of Div 1a, 2, 3 teams and their fans and alumni that could care less. Do not judge college football by what you see on TV or read about.
