If you think OKlahoma was bad, you ought to look at some of the southern schools like Georgia, Ole Miss, etc. It was really NOT thought to be wrong back then by a lot of people.

I question whether a playoff system really would make it better; the shear uncertainty is part of it as well. BY the end of the season usually only 3-5 teams are thinking about the NC anyway- there are HUNDREDS of Div 1a, 2, 3 teams and their fans and alumni that could care less. Do not judge college football by what you see on TV or read about.

Much like he did when he came here and everyone started getting in trouble.
“Oklahoma and the Touchdown Club—How Does a Third-rate College Football Team Suddenly Become One of the Best in the Country?” –headline from True Magazine, 1950
Thats a good question.... The entire foundation of that team was built on cheating.

Or do you just have lil' weenie envy?
Either way it's going to be ok.
Not everyone from Oklahoma is a bully & You're on your own with the lil' weenie thingy.I can't help you with that one.

CATCH17;1806086 said:Well I heard Herbstreit say....
.........there are bigger things in College football then the National Championship.
That is the truth...It's called LIFE....some how the scholastic part that is not involved in the professional part is lost on you. A very small percentage of men and women vying for a professional sports career with the vast majority preparing for reality....
This is why im about done with College football other than watching it for NFL prospects.
You'll be missed....not.
Its to similar to T- Ball.... Everyone gets a trophy.
Another swing and a miss.
If your main goal is to not name a Champion but to make dollars then its not a true competitive sport. Its more like Wrestling in that its just sports entertainment.
Ummm...All sports are entertainment....and you're still lost in deciphering between amateur and professional sports.

So you can save that for someone who has no clue whats going on.

CATCH17;1806144 said:Nah dude you didn't even know the exact quote.
When Herbstreit said it he was talking about everything from a football standpoint.
He wasn't going into life details. He wasn't talking about anything other than Ohio State getting more respect by beating USC than winning a MNC.
He was making a case as to why the Rose Bowl was a bigger game than the National Championship. Not on why kids cant play a playoff.
So well, ummmmm, you didn't.
ndanger;1806186 said:If your so "done" with college football why don't you quit Peeing on it and whining about it like a little third grader. You are so on my ignore list from this point forward it's almost like you never existed.Well as soon as I can clear my mind of your garbage posts. There ,gone now ,bye, bye SKIPPY.
No im just deciphering on why does College football have to be different from Professional AND amateur team sports. OH because of money thats why.
