criticising teams from the 50s for paying their players is just plain dumb. Just about every major football school was doing it back then. If you think OKlahoma was bad, you ought to look at some of the southern schools like Georgia, Ole Miss, etc. It was really NOT thought to be wrong back then by a lot of people.

This was a team coached by Barry Switzer too and that guy let his players run like animals.

Much like he did when he came here and everyone started getting in trouble.

Thats a good question.... The entire foundation of that team was built on cheating.

College Footballs atomosphere= the students, bands, cheer leaders, alumni, etc really cannot be beat. I question whether a playoff system really would make it better; the shear uncertainty is part of it as well. BY the end of the season usually only 3-5 teams are thinking about the NC anyway- there are HUNDREDS of Div 1a, 2, 3 teams and their fans and alumni that could care less. Do not judge college football by what you see on TV or read about.

Well I heard Herbstreit say the other day that Ohio State beating USC in the Rose Bowl would be a bigger win than beating WVU for the National Championship.

He also went on to say there are bigger things in College football then the National Championship.

This is why im about done with College football other than watching it for NFL prospects.

Its to similar to T- Ball.... Everyone gets a trophy.

If your main goal is to not name a Champion but to make dollars then its not a true competitive sport. Its more like Wrestling in that its just sports entertainment.

Div 1 football is the only team sport without a Playoff.

Your original point(and I use that lightly) was you were so done with college football because the level of play was down.(how does a playoff game change that?)

Then you were so done because of no playoff system.
