I knew Parnell looked real bad on a run play in the first half, and Broaddus pointed out that Parnell was the only lineman to go into pass protection on that play. That's easy to fix compared to bad technique. I think he played ok. It's good to get him the reps.

And then did proceed to say as the game went on he wasnt "as bad". Then talked more about it and said he was better then he thought he would be which didnt say much because of the faces he was making about what he thought would happen.

IMO Parnell is a notch below Free. From what coaches and the OL have said Free is more important to the cohesiveness of the OL then fans want to believe. I could see them coming to terms on a new 3 yr deal. Leary is going to be a RFA so Dallas can just throw him a tender. If its not broke dont mess with it.

That's about how I see it, too. I'd like to get younger at RT, and it'd be nice to see Parnell blossom here when he gets some snaps, but from the sound of things, Free's a pretty good guy in that locker room. And he'd probably take a reasonable deal in an extension given his age and the good situation he's in. Leary we've got for another year if we tender him, but I do worry a bit about giving the guy a big deal for the next five years or so. And we'll have to, given the level he's playing at and the fact that he came in as a CFA originally. He's going to want some security, and he's now in a position to get some. A lot of interesting decisions to be made this offseason. We'll see how committed we are to our relatively newfound ability to find talent and develop it from the college ranks.

That's her nature. I just feel bad for Sydney. She is a big part of the show, and I hope she doesn't shy away from her usual input.

I just don't get how someone who just graduated from College (yes, Kelsey grad from SMU) last year and is in Marketing for the Website, was all a sudden promoted as host of the Break and now is acting like the host of Talking Cowboys,

In fairness she took over from Ed and he was the host so I'm sure she was told to do the same. Also noticed it was a little awkward between the girls but it being the first show I'm sure it will smooth out.

The dynamic on the Break changed also with Steve being less negative about the players but complaining Dez didn't catch 20 balls and saying the should extend Garrett right now. I think he's just blurting things out for reaction now.

Steve too is loud. And he thinks we are a super bowl team next year because all we have to do is add Defense in the draft and well be the favs for the super bowl. I guess he didn't notice the team will have about 20-30 free agents from the roster. And who knows if we resign Murray or Free.

I just watched the rest of it. She's going to leave the show soon is my prediction. Kelsey is super annoying.

I have to agree. I like them all, honestly, because I'm so addicted to Cowboys content. But it's cute/annoying how little poor Sydney knows about the game. Asking if Brian's ever heard of an 'i formation' and whatnot. The dynamic with her and Kelsey today was fascinating, because she got so quiet. At one point, Syndey apologized for not having an email that was directly on the topic they were discussing to pick from, and Kelsey immediately accepted the apology and talked over her. I thought there was going to be a flair up on-air, but Sydney just let it happen. It's going to be interesting to watch it play out over a couple of weeks, though.

Kelsey does talk a lot, but she's articulate and has a good voice for radio, at least. And is good at the duties of hosting. It'll be fun to watch her and Brian compete for air time.

I immediately thought "no she didn't" when she asked the I-formation question. So embarrasing .... on a fooball talk show.

Did you notice how quiet Sydney was today? Kelsey was so loud. Usually, Sydney chimes in and out of everyones conversation, but today, Kelsey tried to be the main host and Sydney seemed out of place.

lol I noticed that too. Sydney hates her I can tell.

I agree with your statement in bold. I hope, though, that they make an effort to draft his replacement (2nd or 3rd round) in next year's draft. Parnell is not the answer and Free has a limited shelf life.

Both Rowan and Ed were good in my opinion. The Talkin' Cowboys show is really centered around Mickey and Brian and both Rowan (in his short time on it) and Ed were good at keeping it that way. Kelsey is just too much of a presence that Mickey and Brian don't need. I fear the downfall of this show. I purposely avoided the Break because of Kelsey and her style.

I also never understood some of the dislike of Mickey. He's a long timer and while by no means do I always agree with his opinions, he is knowledgeable and often provides quality information.

Perhaps the Cowboys should have matched offers for either Rowan or Ed.

I can give you a pair of reasons for the promotion.

Exactly, let's not sugar coat the obvious, Sydney doesn't have the professional credentials to secure a job like that right out of college, she's eye candy and an easy hire for the producers who wanted a female perspective. I also think the guys enjoy nurturing and helping her.

Look, I don't expect her to know how the Flex worked in '77, but goodness she can't be asking Brian if he's ever heard of the "I" formation. She has to bust her butt on football 101 and dive into the subject matter. A degree gets you the piece of paper - your home work get you the credibility.

Kelsey on the other hand seems insecure in that she has to overcompensate to let everybody know she belongs. I understand chemistry takes time but it feels like a bad mix all the way around.

The reason I listen to Talkin Cowboys was because Kelsey Charles was on Lunch Break (stopped listening to that show). When I heard she was moved over to Talkin Cowboys, I KNEW she would overtalk, be loud, and try and run the show. BINGO. She acts like it's her show. And over talks when Mickey and Brian are speaking, always interrupting them. So annoying. It's NOT her show, it's Mickey and Brians.

She has no clue about the history of the Cowboys or even their recent history. Kelsey talked about how Witten's game has changed, and how he is more of a blockier and how it stood out in the game. Mickey came back and said no, that was always a part of his game. I laughed.

I am still un-decided. It was first time I heard Kelsey and to be honest...I was impressed she knew as much as she did. Talk to me by end of year and I may feel as you do.
