The reason I listen to Talkin Cowboys was because Kelsey Charles was on Lunch Break (stopped listening to that show). When I heard she was moved over to Talkin Cowboys, I KNEW she would overtalk, be loud, and try and run the show. BINGO. She acts like it's her show. And over talks when Mickey and Brian are speaking, always interrupting them. So annoying. It's NOT her show, it's Mickey and Brians.

She has no clue about the history of the Cowboys or even their recent history. Kelsey talked about how Witten's game has changed, and how he is more of a blockier and how it stood out in the game. Mickey came back and said no, that was always a part of his game. I laughed.

As Mickey said when he introduced her... she's there to drive the bus. She has the producer's voice in her ear reminding them when to take breaks/keeping the show within it's time slot and moderating the course of the show as planned. That's her job just as it was Ed's job. Mickey has no problem correcting her when she is wrong, as we have all seen. She is not as bad as you say if you understand what is really going on.

Not every successful woman did so through daddy or their legs.

Easy there big guy. I never insinuated she slept with anyone, and I never insinuated she got there because she was a "woman".

It was a simple observation that an unexperienced candidate got a job that they weren't qualified for. She has a year of coordinating events, and she's never been on radio. It's hard for me to believe that she a) got the first coordinating job with that kind of responsibility through genuine grit as a college Junior, you don't do that for the Dallas Cowboys without knowing someone, b) was more qualified than any other candidate for that position.

Sex had nothing to do with it, she got hooked up.

I am getting the impression that you are projecting something else onto old Kelsey here. She did similar things at SMU and for the Austin Chronicle. They gave her the East gala to coordinate events for and she did well. They expanded that to training camp.

And again her results have been good. i am guessing you don't think female comedians are funny either.

Well, ok. When I think of journalism, I don't think of marketing or coordinating events.

What does being female have to do with anything? I just wanted to know her criteria for her marketing job. No need to attack me.

I can't stand how Brian Broaddus makes every opponent seem like Hall of Famers. Just once I want him to be like "they suck, there is no way we lose" instead of always "player X has some ability and could give the Cowboys some problems"

That will never happen. He has a scout's mentality which means he evaluates talent. All teams have some amount of talent and so it is his job to point it out. And of course I'm sure you have heard the old saying... Any given Sunday... In the NFL it is true so you will never hear Broaddus(a former scout) to say "there is no way we lose". Dude is just doing his job.

There is a difference between just doing your job and overrating the talent on the opposition. Probably why he is a FAILED scout.

On the Break today all they talked about was which players could get injured without the season being lost...........................why the hell even talk about crap like that?

It would be like standing in line at the boarding gate at DFW and asking everybody which area of the plane is the safest to sit in if it crashes...................LOL............some things you just don't talk about.

That's your opinion but he's not a "failed scout" he just changed jobs, lots of people do that. I think he is very informative.

I can't figure out if I think Kelsey is pretty or not:

That's not her.

This is her on the left.

Not sure who the girl is on the right, but damn, what an outfit with those boots. Instant dream wife material, I don't care what her beliefs are beyond this.

He said that last week about the Giants.

She did media stuff at SMU and the event stuff with the Austin Chronicle. I get the impression she has done a bit of both. I linked you her resume.

her resume said:
Emcee/Reporter/In-Game Personality
SMU Athletic Department
February 2012 – May 2012 (4 months)Southern Methodist University
Provide in-game entertainment and information to fans during games.

It would help if you would read it. She was an intern with the Cowboys through SMU and the marketing department. They hired her after interning her for a year at which point they gave her more responsibilities including the media production stuff.

Look throughout the Cowboys organization they hire young people as a HR strategy. Some are gone now but Kavner, Cahill, Helman, Cash and Gross have all been recent hires that buck your trend of 'genuine grit.' The Cowboys are about bringing in young new talent out of school which frankly is a nice change of pace for sports journalism.

I would read it if I cared. Which I don't, and I'm not sure why you do either but whatever floats your boat.
If you're a family member I'm sorry my opinion offended you, but it's still my opinion.

I'm skeptical that there weren't 10 better qualified candidates, if they actually opened the spot up for competition. They could have done better, hence why I said she got a little boost. Any girl attending SMU for marketing doesn't have much to worry about, if you know what I mean.

And for the record, I wasn't particular speaking of her inexperience. She just isn't very good. There are a lot of marketing, broadcasting, journalist, whatever the rest of them are, programs around the state. If they wanted a better candidate that fit the same demographic, they could have found one.

Broaddus had referred to himself as a failed scout many times in the show over the years.

Yes. I was cussing them. Jinx or whatever, it's not a topic listeners want to listen to.

Does anyone know how many other teams have one or two talk shows available like the Cowboys have? Along with an excellent phone app to access the shows and key twitter feeds, news articles and box scores?

My thoughts ...

* Kelsey is beautiful and I believe she does a solid job as the new host of Talkin' Cowboys. She's informed about what's going on and does a good job of keeping things moving. She can hold her own on the football talk. I think she does a better job of not forgetting about people on hold. It'll take a few weeks with everyone together for the discussion to get better.

* I like Mickey but he can be negative nanny which I don't have a problem with.

* Bryan is solid and brings some good insight but somethings he can be long winded and overly nice to stupid questions.

* Sydney ... man ... she and Kelsey provide quite the eye candy but the best thing Sydney brings to the show is information about what the cheerleaders are doing. I always find it interesting to hear her talk about her impression of things from the sideline. Unlike Kelsey, she brings nothing to the football talk. All she does is keep track of emails and bring a little bit of a novice view of things. Sydney seems to be a great girl but the show doesn't miss her at all when she's gone.

* I rarely watch Cowboys Break due to the schedule but I really enjoy Nick Eatman. Dennis is solid.

Totally disagree. Kelsey doesn't know the recent history of the Cowboys, at all. Sydney has been a Cowboys cheerleader, I think for around 8 years now. She is also a big fan of the game. I have heard her bring things up about certain players, that she notices during games on the sideline.

Is she a "attractive" tall skinny blonde? Because that's what they all do when on camera so it's no surprise

He was fired as a scout. He has said that he would jump at the opportunity to be a scout again if he got any offers.
