Tank is 5-0 as a Cowboy. Before Tank, the Cowboys were struggling at 7-1.

What a name for a DL. "Tank." Sort of like Bubba. You can't play DL with names like Ebeneezer (rhymes with sneeze and sound nerdy) and Shante (sounds like a female rap singer).

I don't care what he said, it was ugly. I watched it last night and couldn't believe how many times he played himself out of position.

On several of those long running plays up the gut, Tank was the NT. It was his job to brick up the middle.

I think the HC might have a slight advantage over you in terms of evaluating his own players:rolleyes:

i will keep that in mind next time i have a geography question.

He also has the slight advantage of being able to calling bad plays. :laugh2:

FYI, if you would have read what I quoted, then you would have understood.

I will take the word of the head coach, a defensive expert, over a poster any day.

No kidding.

NYC - no offense bro but sometimes you should not always post what you think you think. Wow.

Wow, you should read before you post. Everything I said was absolutely correct and on the mark. Hell, even Wade said that several times that Tank was out of position that it was because of him and not Tank. I even noted this possibility in the very first post!

Wow, this is a post for that picture of a foot in the mouth fits perfectly.

I think it's ok to take a certain position about a player's play. However, when the coach comes out and says something totally opposite, I'd really need to go back and watch said player again.

While some of the members on the board are certainly more informed football-wise than others; I'd still have to think that the coach's opinion would hold more weight than even the most knowledgeable of posters.

Seeing as I barely watched the NFL Replay the other night, I can't really comment on the game, but if Wade said Tank's play was ok the other day, then I guess it was ok.

Oh and Tank is 12-1. :)

As a Cowboys fan, I'm 12-1 this season with 5 Superbowls Championships. Thats more than Tank can say. Actually he is only 6-0 *since becoming* a Cowboy, technically *as a* Cowboy he is 12-1. :p: ;)

If I am not mistaken, Wade Phillips said in his PC 2 days ago that Tank Johnson had the second best game on defense against Detroit.

what a mean thing to say!

The Lions trapped the backside of the running lanes creating holes. Dallas stunts the NT into 2 and 3 hole often leaving the ILB to take on the guard.

Both Ratliff and Tank would slant and our backers would overpursue allowing cut back runs that would gash us.

I just think you went extreme in saying Tank is the one that should have been cut instead of Remi. I don't doubt Tank has some learning to do because he is new to this type of defense and had no training camp or pre-season. I didn't think Tank would be a huge impact this season because of his situation, but the guy does have talent. Was Remi better than Tank? Did anyone break down Remi's play and see if he was ever out of position or getting blown off the line? That is the comparison.

Oh my. You actually took that literally? I thought I worded well enough by adding "(Now, I understand that sounds crazy, but thats how irate I felt about his play)" to understand that I was just upset and not stupid.

maybe it's just me but i value wades view of a player more than a fan, or even myself for that matter. he knows what a players was suppose to do on any given play, we don't

I feel the same way. Someone on here feels they are the be all end all of defense breakdowns and know exactly what was being done and who failed.

Allow me to trust the coach and not some random internet poster.

I didn't watch him alot on the replay, but I noticed one play on a big run we were slanting to the strong side, and the play for Detroit was a run to the weak side. You cant help that much,it's still a chess game between Cordinaters.
