modano on nfldraftcountdown posted this video of tank

nyc is right he runs himself out of plays constantly, whether that's by design or not he does it.

he did it on the play roy williams got his big hit on grant too, by basically just getting in the backfield. so it could be that he's supposed to just get penetration.

however, when he runs up the field too fast, he's allowing the qb to run for yards and also enabling the oline to get onto the backers, plus he gets run over quite a bit.

just compare ratliff to tank, ratliff gets in the backfield but keeps his guys occupied. tank does and just gets pushed out of the way.

but it's clear tank is very active, which is what wade's looking for.

I don't care what he said, it was ugly. I watched it last night and couldn't believe how many times he played himself out of position.

On several of those long running plays up the gut, Tank was the NT. It was his job to brick up the middle.

and what pro team do you coach for again? I love you man, but that was weak

You don't care what the HC and also defensive guru said about one of his players... In WP D the NT doesn't "brick up the middle", he stunts and slants which is completely different from the traditional NT responsibilities.
