Jerry and his Indulge-the-Superstar-And-Endure-Endless-Mediocre-Team-Results perspective has permeated the culture...including large segments of the fan base.

As long as this lax, lazy, insipid, weak culture pervades....we will never win anything as a team again.

The same people that wanted T.O. and that bemoaned our not securing Randy Moss are the ones who say, "I don't care if he knows his route or timing---throw him the dang ball."

It's a childish mindset, lacking manhood.

Thank you Adam for reminded the forum of the thread. I'm quite proud of my work there, and have posted two sequels now.

In that same thread you poo-poo'd the notion that coaches were on the sidelines yelling out Dez's assignments. Yet we are seeing the same crap now, even though he's being paid millions.

Is Dez a prolific talent? Absolutely. But that talent will get squandered if people don't sit on the kid big time.

By people you mean the fans who watch the game on television and have absolutely zero impact on Dez, right?

Garrett has apparently drunk some of the Kook-Aide as well... Throwing/Forcing the ball to Dez on the sideline in the final drive....didn't work then and didn't work in an earlier game (can't remember which).

It's like everyone wants to see a 360 degree dunk or ball hit a 500 feet... But they forget about making the ten foot jumper or a base hit. It may be boring, but stick with what is working.

It almost seems like Dez threw a temper tantrum and they promised to get him the ball. Anyway, he's a great talent, but he needs discipline. I just hope Garrett or Sherman or someone can give it to him and this team.

This is as simple as 1-2-3. All teams now are focused on Dez and shutting him down, so you play the man. None of this your third string and don't play half the game. There is a reason why defenses are focused on him and no one else and when he doesn't play other teams are prolly giving each other high 5's. You also don't put him as far away from the play as possible as he was the entire game yesterday. Bottom line, do you not game plan around Andre Johnson, Fitzgerald, etc and call no plays for them? Yesterday, was not about coverage it was all about Dez being the 5th option on this team according to Jason Garrett.

2. Witten
3. Run the ball
4. Roy
5. Dez

If he wants to keep his job he better rethink that.

I agee that the over-use of quick screens are getting old. But I remind myself that Garret is trying to keep his backup quarterback standing when he knows we can't block a lick up front.

Ask yourself....where was Dez supposed to be on that play?

Quarterbacks in modern offenses never throw the ball to a receiver...they throw the ball *AHEAD OF TIME*, often before a receiver makes his break.

Everything is predicated on where the receiver is supposed to be.

Unreliable receivers break everything, leading to incompletions and interceptions.



Dez cuts off a route early...and you have an overthrow like we saw on that play...and a batted ball that easily could have been intercepted.

I missed a section of the game...so I can't comment on every play...but I doubt Kitna was just overtly long on both plays w/out doing so purposefully.

He has had enough time to prove himself here and it's time to move on. There is no more upside with him. Lets play Dez and get him some more experience. Say what you want but Ill take an inexperience Dez Bryant over a mature Roy Williams any day. You don't see teams doubling him like they do Dez. That tells the story there.

Roy is half as talented as Dez. No doubt.

But when you don't know your plays how can you play? There is zero doubt that the Cowboys have him limited to 25 plays or (much)less...yet he can't keep even that clear in his head.

Dez has no one to be angry with---except himself. He is the one with his foot on the brakes of his own development and success.

He is more than tapping the brakes on #88...he's stomping the brakes on his own career.
