This is a shocker..

Pretty sure he was viewed as a anti Garrett guy.

Not really. He is very popular around Valley Ranch and has maintained a close connection to the staff, players, and press. I think it's a great move.

Jerry sure loves him a good redemption story.

One of my least favorite Cowboys in recent memory is now on the staff, fantastic.

Too bad Count. He was one of my favorites who I think got a raw deal.

Yeah, one of the Quality Control coaches. Those are often recent ex-players getting their feet wet in coaching.

Yes that was the term I was looking for, couldn't think of it at the time...thanks...

This is sort of off topic, but I have been sort of disappointed in Garrett ability to uncover coaching talent. I am on board of bringing in old vets who have years of experience. I think that is a good strategy. Although I was hoping he would have a keen eye for coaching talent. Not every coach has it but I thought a young coach who was more cerebral would have this talent. I don't want to bring everything back to Parcells but looks at his staff he patched together when he was here. Not everyone was unknown but they certainly were not star coordinators. It is quite remarkable how many of his coaches while he was in Dallas went on to become head coaches or assistant coaches. Not all had long term success as head coaches but I think it is quite apparent Parcells had that eye for coaching talent.

Well Garrett doesn't exactly have a "coaching tree", its more like a "coaching shrub"

And don't you guys worry about Zeke, he is going to be "coached up" by Choice now.

Well they didnt like him to begin with, this is the most valid thing they have to complain about.

I liked him when they got him, liked him as a cowboy, thought he should have been given a better opportunity, and then forgot about him. I have no idea what people are holding on to.

I agree 100%.

He'll be on the shortest of leashes. If he's not completely professional, he'll be out the door quickly, and any thoughts of a coaching career will go with him.

Hope that leash has a choker collar on the end of it !!!

I feel like T.O. was partly responsible for Choice. Here's this young impressionable kid drafted to the Dallas Cowboys and suddenly he's
teammates with T.O. who was a brash and mouthy player, with talent... no doubt in my mind Choice looked up to him.

I do remember that Pittsburgh game though... really thought we had something there with Choice.

Well I wouldn't expect a casual to understand the passion of fans. Yes doing it on the pitch as opposed to the locker room makes a difference. Not understanding this is just being deliberately ignorant. Why do you find what real fans care about as embarrassing? Clearly your to good for all the minutia surrounding the team of the pitch.

I'm not "too" good for anything. Let it go. The guy got the autograph of a guy who is one of the most prolific players to play this game. A guy a lot of people looked up to while he played in college and the pros. I don't expect for you to understand that.

We have had killers, alleged domestic abusers, drug users and team cancers here and the worst thing you can say about Choice is that he got a autograph. You're embarrassed by it. A autograph. Ok.......

What did Choice do? He was a professional here. Unless I'm missing something.

You ******* let it go. You can't understand why the location matters shut up about it. You don't get it and never will I don't expect you to understand why that would bother fans. All you do ***** about them. I'm embarrassed by him and you. Get a clue.

The locker room wasn't the best place for a young mid round pick at that time... he idolized Owens and used him as a model of how to act
as a football player... never really got in trouble, but his attitude was different after seeing Owens challenge the coaching staff.

I'm just saying that maybe his career would have been a bit more successful if he had a better role model early on. JMO
