Tashard Choice

watch it Displaced, Romo has lots of apoligists and enablers on here that will defend that turnover waiting to happen to the death. ("his pinky is still bad, the receivers ran the wrong route, Red can't call a good game.......on and on and on..........never Tony Turnover's fault) He's been exposed IMO. Just not a big game QB. Nice, SOMETIME exciting and serviceable guy: NOT A QB YOU WIN A SB WITH: PERIOD.

BTW-(Eskimo could be right and it's a frightening prospect because if they got it wrong with MB3 and he isn't they guy they thought he was: well, needless to say it will stunt Jones and Choice's development.)

it's a shame his coming out party was ruined by a terrible quarterback.

It was also ruined by:

1. A terrible LG

2. An OC afraid to pass with half of the 4th quarter left and the Steelers run blitzing on every first and second down.

Well maybe thats because his QB was mostly terrible the whole game? Other than few throws, he was pretty bad, plain and simple. Not that his WR helped him a whole lot either. So all in all, WRs and QB, caused more of running emphasis.

...sigh...Choice had 157 total yards of offense in the first half, and then finished the game with 166 yards. Coaching staff is brutal.

Huh? Are you sure that's right??? I thought he got that long screen in the 3rd quarter

Yeah what happened to the short passes to him?

yeah they had those dump offs, but stopped doing it.

same as last year, where the offense was struggling because teams were covering deep. then they discovered the dumpoff pass.

although to be fair, choice dropped that one pass

i am a huge backer of choice. he has brought so much to this team in so short a time. at this point, he seems like the real deal.

but as to the quarterback question, let me just say that i have been a backer of romo since he first took possession of the ball. but i have to say that, after seeing what i have seen this year, and maybe some of last year, too, i just think his priority is not on winning for this team. he just has too much fun on the sideline when the s*** is on the line.

and then you can't forget the times his mind has obviously been somewhere besides the game. it just seems like he is more interested in the fame that being a number one quarterback brings, rather than on delivering what a number one quarterback needs to deliver and he is not the true leader who is dedicated to this game that the cowboys so desperately need.

signed, kimberly.

I'm not making any excuses for his turnovers - he stunk it up today. But to ride high on the team when they're winning and then to lambast Tony Romo when they lose is amateurish, at best.

These coaches would have definately lost in SF in 92, I cant see Wade telling the offensive coordinator that we have to score and going to the slant with Harper.

It definately felt like we went into "play not to lose" mode with 7 minutes to go in the game

great great great performance.

I am happy to have doubted him.

The only nitpick I have is that he was clearly tired later in the game. That isn't on him - the coaching staff should have tried to get him at least short blow or two.

Passes to backs and TEs over the middle were there all-game long if Garrett had dialed them up and asked Romo not to try so many deep passes which were difficult under those weather conditions. It seemed like anything more than 10 yards downfield was hard to complete.

Now.....That makes me more upset than anything else.....that goes DIRECTLY towards coaching than ANYTHING else. that is unexcusable if you ask me....unfortunately, this is becoming expected....how many times are we going to face a team that sucks and run defense or pass defense and do the exact opposite of what common sence dictates? It seems that they out-think themselves all the time....this is a problem that I had with BP as well...

Sometimes i think Garrett says to himself @ halftime....they gonna take that away in the 2nd half......and so he take it away.......

whereas BP, TL, JJ etc would say run it until they stop it.......then have the stuff ready to go at the weak spot they created to stop it.......

he was unbelievable today!

what a performance.

he did everything and then some against the best defense in the league in his first start.

him and scandrick were absolute steals in the draft.
yup, he was amazing!

What's scary is imagine what Barber or Felix Jones could have done against this defense...

i agree, i was very impressed by him.. too bad we couldnt close it out though :banghead:

We should have thrown a screen or two toward the end of the game before Steelers tied it.

Great game by the rookie. Good find.

Hate to be a negative Nancy, but I have to disagree with the praise being heaped upon Choice in this thread. I love the kid. I love his passion shown in the youtube video before the Clemson game and I think he was an extraordinary 4th round pick.

I was pleasantly suprised on his blitz pickup, however he ran like crap today.

He slipped/fell way too much in the first half. He didn't create or run into space the way a RB worthy of the praise in this thread should.

IMO, he is a better runner then he showed today.

Now this one takes the cake!! You get a Rookie RB run most yards against Steelers D this year, yet he wasn't good. Yep, now that one should take the cake....
