Barber is a great finisher. You use guys like Choice and F. Jones to keep the defense honest, and when you're up 13-3 in the 4th quarter, you bring in a bruiser like Barber to just abuse what's left of the opposing defense and chew up the clock, and then tack on another 7 points with 1:30 or so left on the clock. All your defense has to do then is keep 'em out of the endzone.

Marion wouldn't have made those yards either as Polamolu would have chased him down from behind just like Choice. Marion also wouldn't have been able to run up the middle better than Choice was due to Proctor's blocking.

I'd be perfectly happy with a combo of Choice and Felix.

I'm sure Garrett will go right back to overusing Marion when he is healthy again, though, and Choice and Felix will get to split about 5 carries a game over the next 3 years.

That's my issue though - Garrett over-using Barber in situations when Choice or Felix the Cat would be a better "choice" hehe. Barber is still very good at what he does - hit the defense in the mouth, grind out tough yardage, bang it in on the goal line, and close out the game.

Barber is good but he is not elite and he certainly should not be crowding out a healthy Felix Jones' carries.

I actually think Choice is a better interior runner and open field runner than Barber but he doesn't have Barber's leg drive for short yardage situations. I think he is about equal to Barber in pass protection as I've seen quite a few poor blocks him MB3 over the years and Choice was pretty solid when called upon today.

When they passed over Choice in the draft I was beside myself. Then I realized we got Felix and Choice.

This was me after we drafted Felix and I realized Choice might not be around. ray:

Needless to say, I was happier than a pea in a pod. I'm not really sure why anyone here doubted Choice before this game. Perhaps those people never got to see him run at Gtech. The guy is a game with excellent vision and the ability to make the first (and often second) guy miss. Choice will continue to proven himself as an excellent draft pick for years to come. We're in very good shape with our own proverbial three headed backfield for some years to come.

If barber comes back next week we will have the chance to bang up on the Giants as they did us. This pairing has potential to grind out and be explosive. Cant wait!!!

We aren't running over the Giants with Proctor in there - the season is probably over with him at OG.
