I think the defending Super Bowl champs may think your silly. Seriously. What negative effects can having 3 backs on the roster be? Especially when you have a possibly injury prone Felix Jones? Fine if you want to get rid of one but you better think twice before relying on Felix.

while barber is a better pass blocker and catcher, I don't think he's a better runner than choice and he's certainly not quicker. Plus barber was averaging 3.7 ypc before he was hurt. Not exactly tearing it up for the large amount of money he's being paid. He's just a glorified 4th quarter back in my opinion and is definately not worth his contract.

He was averaing 3.9. And its not even about stats IMO. When Barber has been healthy he's been a contributor. Without him we lose to the Deadskins the second time around. I never understand why people bring up money. It means nothing to us. Its Jerry's money.

I kind of like the thought of Choice on 1st down, Barber on 2nd and Felix on 3rd

Imo, Choice could be one of those backs in the Marshall Faulk/ Brian Westbrook mold. Combining for 2000+ yards a season(rush and Rec yards) and 10+ tds.

I may be wrong, and I know he's only had 3 weeks of success, but the guy has close to 150 of offense a week IIRC.

No way we trade Barbor with that contract. Not going to happen. Not to mention no one really thinks he will last more then 2 or 3 more years before he starts to break down. So he stays. Its going to be tough to find enough footballs to really utilize all three of them.

I say keep all 3...

Look at the NYG, I think next year we could be a run oriented offense and to have that many weapons at WR is just silly.

We need an OC, or Norv.

Ditto. The run is the highest percentage play in football. Teams that can run the ball - have a better chance of plying their trade in January and February when it counts. Also, a good running game will travel better than a passing game and can quiet the loudest road-game crowds. There is just something about a steady running game that saps the spirit right out of a defense. And I remember a time when Dallas used to set up everything with their running game. It was several years back.

The 90's - when they were winning championships.

You'd think the OC would be able to remember that too.

I still think after next year either him or MB3 is going to become trade bait.

Did we not just sign MB3 to a huge deal?

Wouldn't that kill that cap?

When healthy, Barber plays his guts out and you guys just want to trade him away...

This isn't Madden.

Probably the same guys who were screaming to have him instead of Jones cause Jones sucks and now, not even a full year into having Barber as the starter, they're ready to try and move him out and go with the new guy.

I love Choice, I do, but I don't see any reason to move any of the 3 when you can use them to be a great 3 back attack for the next couple of years.

If they all split carries fairly evenly, say 12-8-6 times a game, the running game could be huge.

you are foolish...you need 3. RBs take a huge pounding and it is hard to remain healthy. You need 3 solid backs in case one breaks down.

NY has done wonders with 3 backs. Pittsburgh has gone through several backs cause of injury.

if we had to trade one, Id trade Barber. He has taken more of a pounding. He is also not as good in pass protection as Choice.

I would prefer to keep both and use them the way NY does Jacobs and Ward.....for 2 1/2 quarters let both of these guys just pound on the defenses.....then, in the 3rd and 4th quarters, bring in a fresh Felix Jones (Bradshaw) to abuse the tired defense with his speed.

Keep Choice. Barber is a fan favourite but not as good on the field. I don't know if he is tradeable next year due to cap issues and that monstrousity of a contract - maybe in 2010 though. He can be Choice's backup and short yardage back next year and Felix can be the change of pace guy.

Choice is good, but evidently people havent seen that we lost the pittsburgh game because we kept throwing the ball, and didnt have someone that can finish off a game. If choice could do that im all for it, but i havent seen him do much when they stack up the lines to stop the run.

Not so fast. MB3 hasn't proven yet that he can carry the starting RB role for 16 full games. His health is a concern.

Felix hasn't proven that he can stay healthy either.

I wouldn't trade any one of them yet, but if I had to trade one it would be Barber. I liken him to an Eddie George, who took a pounding and his career didn't last very long. Trade him while he has great value.

:starspin I'm inclined to agree. I doubt that all three will remain with us for any length of time.

I certainly don't want to see Barber traded. I just want him to be used correctly. He hasn't been this season, IMO.

I think this is huge and I don't really see people bring it up. What we needed that Pittsburgh game was what we got from Barber a couple of games before against the Deadskins. The closer. We didn't have it. Whether it was Pittsburgh playing us for the run or Choice just being tired we needed that back to close out the game and run clock.
