I think we know he's a good player. But can he be a good leader too? I get the feeling he has leadership qualities. And we need some players to take control over the team. We need Romo and others to take the leadership role.

Does anyone else think Tashard can lead?

No doubt, but it's hard to lead from the bench

I think he can, but he's young and I think with the way he stepped in and played, he can get the respect of the veterans

I like the passion he plays with. With a bigger role he could be a vocal leader on this team for years to come..lets not forget he was ONLY a rookie last year..give him some time.

There's no doubt in my mind this guy can lead. I hope he's a Cowboy for a very long time.

Choice is a very talented back with great vision and good cutback ability. He's got a great attitude too. He played great against some top 5 defenses, and really ran behind an inconsistent line.

Hopefully RJ will get him some carries, but this is definitely a good problem to have.

I keep wondering if either he or Barber will be traded for draft picks down the road.

He's too young to be the type of leader his teammates will respect.

If he does something so amazing that it commands the attention of his teammates, yes.

But he'll need maybe three years and some skins on his helmet before he becomes a leader his fellow teammates respect.

Not sure why people fail to see this key point.

We NEED Dan Campbell to lead our team from the 3rd string TE gallery.:lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2:

When injuries happen (and they do) people step up. In college, TC's team would be down and he seemed to take the lead role fine.

I'm trying to look around this roster to see if there were any leaders. Sure, he's the 3rd string back. But who knows what Barber's future is and who knows if everyone stays healthy or if Choice just plays well and competes with TC and Felix.

Choice seems to me like a very rounded all around back that a lot of teams would love to have at the 1 or 2 spot.

I really like this player--and even better his attitude.

I agree. That's what this whole post was about. And I had never seen that video. My so-called intuition had just sensed it in other interviews when he talked and I watched his clips from his GT days.

But now, after seeing that, there is no doubt in my mind we need more players like Choice.

Leaders win championships.

Yep. I think we need to see Choice carry more of the load but if he does and performs like he did at the end of last year, he makes Barber great trade bait. I just don't see Barber lasting a long time with his running style. Choice has some power but he is more elusive than Barber and is probably the better long term investment.

Don't tell anyone this (because I hate to bash players on my team), but I thought Barber was starting to slump last year.

However, if we run a two-back system, it's always good to have a solid 3rd back. So we could just be a team that carries 3 solid backs throughout the roster.

And I see no reason you can't work them all in and just go with the hot hand.

I felt like, last year, we stuck with Barber when Choice would have been a better choice--no pun intended. Knowing when to change--or not to change--backs is key when you have multiple guys who can run the ball.

I don't think it was a slump as Ds figuring out how to stop him:

don't try to tackle him high

Barber needs to re-evaluate how he runs, because trying to cut outside, and stiff-arming the defender isn't working anymore, they go for his ankles all the time
