TE James Hanna will have knee surgery

They still don't throw him the ball. If they aren't going to do that, he doesn't have much value. He is not a good blocker and likely never will be.
He's a pass catcher.

Dez doesn't block.

Beasley doesn't block.

We have 4 Pro zBowlers on the OL.

They should block.

They have to throw him the ball if he is going to be a pass catcher. They dont at the present time. And Dez does block, so does Williams, but they are in different positions with different roles. TE's help block in the run game. You should watch a game sometime. You might like it.

Of course they occasionally block..

but is not their primary roles.

There are blocking TEs and pass catching TEs..

very few are like Witten who does both and who gets slower every season.

Yes they should throw to Escobar more.

But Tony has his favorites.

When Romo and Witten retire in the next couple of years..

DAK is going to need a TE to throw to.

Escobar ?

Just sign James Casey who is TE/FB hybrid, kill 2 birds with one stone.

I think that's a very good idea, as Casey has shown to be a jack of all trades type utility player. Plays TE, H-back, FB, and excels on special teams. As I recall, we did have interest in him during the draft too.

That said, I'm not sure he's still interested in playing. Last I heard of him were a few workouts last season?
