Getting 40+ sacks from edge defenders would be insane, back in the day you expected 12-16 from RDE and if you got 10+ from your LDE you had a stud pass rush. Get an avg of 10+ from 4 guys would be absolutely killer.

We are currently averaging 4.2 sacks per game this season. That puts us right there with the Bears 72 sack total albeit from more games. We're not the Bears but the pass rush is pretty good.

You said that a record "wouldn't mean anything" to fans if they didn't go far in the playoffs. I'm telling you that I think that's sad. The record would be pretty cool and I would enjoy that. Going one and done in the playoffs would be disappointing. Both things can be true.

OK you’re talking about the sack record. It would mean something to some fans but most would blow it off if the team falls flat in the playoffs.
