Ok, we can agree to disagree.Tyron has one foot out the door. His useful days are behind him.

Don't think OT is a serious need. I'd go DT, RB, OG, TE, K.It’s a long time until opening day, and we still have the draft and post draft free agency to go prior to the start of the season. But as of right now, today here are my concerns:
DT (marginal starters and almost no depth)
QB (is it going to be good Dak, or Bad Dak who shows up and I don’t think Cooper Rush is very good in spite of his win total last year)
RB. I would be saying the same thing even if we had kept The Ewok as I think he is done. As of today, Pollard still can’t play. Davis and Dowdle don’t move the needle at all. We need two good playable RBs.
OL. Tyron is done. We have a hole at G and Steele hasn’t come back yet.
So, as I see it we somehow need to come out of the draft or post draft free agency with:
2 DT
2 RB
QB
OT
OG
We seriously need to add a starting quality player at 1 DT, 1 RB, 1 OT, 1 OG
We need potential starters at:
1 DT, 1RB, QB,
I love what the team has done and if the team goes BPA all the way through the draft it will not hurt my feelings at all. But some how, some where, some way, these legitimate holes need to be filled if we want that elusive SB win. I don’t think we get there otherwise.
Kind of discouraging post. AND very true . We can only hope some of our home growns step up and the draft and whats left in FA fills those holes. It’s a long time until opening day, and we still have the draft and post draft free agency to go prior to the start of the season. I wasn’t aware of MM’s position on things, if this truly what MM’s position is. But having said that this OL (and its depth)which used to be a strength of this team is now “light” comparatively speaking. Let’s delve into this a bit further:Instead of believing what the so called experts say our needs are or what fans believe our needs are, why not look at what the coaches want on each side of the ball as it pertains to 2023 and beyond. We know McCarthy says he is going to run the ball more and if you look at his history of coaching then it pretty much confirms this and Quinn has built a top 5 defense but a couple of more pieces like stopping the run and depth in the secondary would be great.
So for me, if we believe McCarthy and I do then a starting LG and an OT to groom as either a swing OT or potential starter would be great. A RB that either compliments Pollard or maybe takes his place next year, McCarthy has it seems used a 2 back rotation so neither gets worn out. A big blocking TE who has receiving skills because he already has two guys at TE who can split out and catch very well and run the middle very well. Maybe a speedy WR who can stretch the field but betting they think they have one in either Tolbert or Houston.
As to Quinn, believe Jerry thinks that Quinn can make Alarcon the run stuffing DT although it looks like a stretch to me but Alarcon also could be the big guy they use at FB sometimes also. Another S with Kearse like qualities would be good and another CB for depth and if a DE falls to them then I expect them to jump on him quickly. More likely someone like B.J. Thompson in 4th round and possibly an Andre Carter DE out of Army in late 3rd or 4th round who eventually takes Lawrence place.
The other thing is fans are much to excited about a lot of these guys in the draft. If you go by quality, Young should be really the only QB taken in the 1st, none of these WRs compare as anything but 2nd and 3rd round guys over what was taken in the last 3 drafts. Robinson most likely the only true 1st round RB. Heck none of the guards are more than 2nd round guys nor the centers. There are some good to great DL guys and TE is the best in years. CB is a decent area all through the draft but LB are few and far between. It is not to say there aren't going to be great players coming out of this draft but really only 10-12 guys that really should carry a 1st round grade and yet probably 5 QBs at least will go in the 1st round.
Dallas could very well make a few trades this year as they have some depth to make those moves. Guys like Armstrong, Lewis, Gallimore and heck even Steele could be moved for the right price during the draft. Coaches were pretty high on Waletzko before he was shelved for the year. Could see them move down a couple of spots in the 1st for the right deal and even into the 2nd round if someone wants to come up for a QB just to get the 5th option for one.
For me, I'm looking at those guys that fit what the coaches like because just believe they will be higher on their board. The 30 visits and Dallas Day guys will most likely dominate who Dallas takes. Any other guys who be ones that they didn't believe would fall and then if they are BPA, would expect them to take them.
The Cowboys don’t have a hole QB so you guys need to put that to rest. If you want to see a hole at QB with the Cowboys, you have to go back to the mid to late 80s and early 2000s.It’s a long time until opening day, and we still have the draft and post draft free agency to go prior to the start of the season. Good points but you’re wrong about the OL. We have Farniok, Waletzko and signed Edoga and Steele will be ready by TC supposedly. There is no need to reach for a player or take one early unless they have an OL rated higher than anyone else when that pick rolls around. It’s a long time until opening day, and we still have the draft and post draft free agency to go prior to the start of the season. A shame . . . Because Jimmy Johnson didThis front office has never valued DTs
I dont see it all of the sudden becoming a priority now.
btw , I agree with you.
. . . Tell me you do not know about WR talent without telling me you know nothing about WR talent in the NFLI like to look at it from the perspective of wining in the playoffs. Our offense scored 12 points which wasn't nearly enough. We've lost Brown and signed Cooks so that should be a plus. There are no certainties but I think he will most likely be a much better addition than Washington was. We lost McGovern, Schultz, and Zeke and signed some vets that probably aren't as good. so on the whole the offense that wasn't good enough is worse at this point. They need to draft a RB capable of getting more than 3.8 YPC and able to handle at least part of Zeke's 231 carries last season. They also need a starting caliber OG preferably one that would be an upgrade to McGovern that could step in when Tyron gets hurt again. TEs usually take some time to acclimate to the NFL so I'm a little doubtful that they'll find someone in the draft that can step right in and replace Schultz's production so it will probably be up to the guys from last year to pick up the slack. Other than Lamb, our WR group was not good against the 49ers and although Cooks helps, adding a playmaker to the group that could work into to the offense as the season goes on would be valuable if they do make the playoffs again this season. Most of the teams that won in the divisional round had better WR groups than ours excluding the Chiefs who seem to only need Kelce and Mahomes.

Who is The Ewok?
Whoever it is.....everyone else seems to have a real name. Very interesting.

Are you serious? You must not have been watching football back then if you believe that. QBs took more punishment back then, but it wasn’t harder to play the position. QBs didn’t throw the ball near as much back then. Teams ran the ball a lot more and won a lot of games with defense. Much more is put on the shoulders of QBs these days, which is why QB money has skyrocketed. You don’t see nearly as many average QBs winning Super Bowls these days as you did years ago, because in today’s game there’s a lot of situations, especially in the playoffs where QBs have to carry their teams. It was harder to play QB back then

Your whole argument is centered around this as your basis for the Modern QB having more pressure. . . . because the ball is thrown moreAre you serious? All you have to do is go back to this past Super Bowl and watch Mahomes in the second half. Almost every league MVP and Super Bowl MVP are QBs because they have so much impact on games. I saw an interview with Terry Bradshaw a couple of years ago and he was talking about how difficult it is to play QB these days compared to when he played.
