Defenses are now going to try and game plan more to take away what makes Cooper Rush the most comfortable. Question is can Kellen Moore adjust to what they are doing to help out Rush or can Rush do just enough to throw off defenses who are going to try and put the game solely on his arm and QB talents.
I think the Eagles will concentrate on stopping the run and taking the intermediate routes, especially across the middle, from the Cowboys offense.
They will try to force Cooper to beat them with outside routes and deep passes. They will get burned by this, underestimating Rush’s accuracy, but he will be forced to adjust.
They will send blitzes and stack the line to try and stop the run.
So, in return, Dallas has to take advantage of the deep ball, but also incorporate blocking packages that target specific holes in the defense, and give Rush time to pass.
Rush may have to roll out to one side and change the angles he attacks the pass defense of the Eagles, and use Pollard and Elliott to find openings in the short secondary.
Moore is too smart to let them take away the run, and I expect him to target holes in the line with overloaded blocking.
Fatigue will determine the outcome of this battle, as the Cowboys o-line and plan of attack must overcome the Eagles pressure.
