I'm with you on this. Yes it's a big game and a divisional game that we'd love to win. But people trying to turn it into a defining game for the season are way off base. The Cowboys schedule is going to soften up quite a bit after this stretch. I mean 4 of their first 6 opponents were playoff teams last year. After this week they will only have 3 such games remaining. The Titans, Philly and Green Bay. Unfortunately the Eagles schedule isn't much tougher as they only have the Steelers, Titans, Green Bay and Dallas left as playoff teams from last year. Obviously the Steelers have taken a huge step backwards this year. But frankly I just don't think the Eagles are as good as the Cowboys if both teams are at full strength. And folks can scoff all they want, the biggest advantage the Cowboys have had over the years has been Dak. This year it's the defense. Philly is giving up 5 yards per carry on the ground. If that doesn't scream RUN THE DAMN BALL in Moore's ear all day and even when he goes to bed there is something seriously wrong with him.
As you say, not the season DEFINING GAME, however, with a comparative schedule (and us potentially two games behind) it'll make the Eagles game on Christmas Eve critical or we may have to go back to Lincoln in the play-offs. Then again, if the season ended now we'd interestingly be playing 49ers at home in the WC-Round.... which with a fit Dak and Zeke may give a different outcome from last year.
On the RUN THE BALL comment, that's what we've been doing with KM/Rush.....lets hope Dak heeds this changing gameplan when he comes back. Remember Helman seemed to indicate that it was Dak that changed up to passing plays vrs the Buccs.
Regardless of 'blame' (only mentioned as you appeared to be focusing KM as the fault), we do need to stick to the more balanced and run early approach for the rest of the season.
