As many as Romo

If Romo was on the Broncos they'd probably have a ring now.

Ask Tebow to drop back 61 times behind this line and things would get uggly.

I'll take him on my team any time. And I would take him as a QB. I would use him in specific spots (3rd and 4th and inches, and sometimes inside the 5 yard line).

How many times in the last 5 years have I had a sick feeling in my stomach when it is 3rd and less than a yard, or we are going for it on 4th down and need a yard?

Forget the hype, if there is anywhere in the NFL where a team is USED TO DISTRACTIONS it is the Dallas Cowboys.

If your gonna have a defense threatened that the QB is gonna run, then Tony Romo can do that himself. The problem is the OC does not employ that package with this team, because he's oblivious right now.

The problem is he can't be just a backup QB anywhere because the fans won't allow it, and it turns into some kind of QB controversy.

I would like to see him get a shot on a team that is going nowhere anyway, like Jacksonville. Let him play QB for a few years, what does it hurt? Atleast they will sell tickets, and they can probably win a few games playing his style.

Being old enough to remember 1972. The Craig Morton/Roger Staubach controversy, I see alot of similarities.God-fearing straight-arrow Roger, 1.)ran out of the pocket too quickly,2.) made dangerous throws on the run and 3.)couldn't throw the 15-18 yd. sideline route, not enough arm.All he could do is 1.)Stare at his Heisman on his mantle at home 2.)Rally a team to late game heroics through shear will 3.) Find a way to win. Tom Landry knew that the intangibles were precious and rare but needed refinement and focused discipline and he got Roger the help. Anyone thinking Tebow can't win needs to check with the Pittsburgh Steelers who got Tebow'ed right out of the playoffs in a season where he won 7 out of 8.He's a kid QB and is just a bit older than 5th year senior Ryan Nassib.Tebow has skins on the wall.Sign him and get a developemental QB coach in here, no more talk about how the Cowboys should waste a 4th rounder on an developmental QB like McGee, Barkley, Nassib, Glennon etc.

It's over dude, just let it go. Oh and McGee was and still is light years ahead of Tebow, but he wasn't good enough.

Some team (not the Cowboys) should sign him and say upfront that he is NOT a QB. Make him a full time FB or H-back and he might have to a chance to legitimately make a team at that position. They could let him throw one pass per game from that position just to force defenses to defend that option.

His measureables compare favorably to many FBs.

20 Yrd Dash: 2.66

Broad Jump: 09'07"
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.17

Tebow also finished that season losing 4 of his last 5 games played.

Tebow is not even remotely as talented as Roger Staubach. I never heard anyone question Staubach's arm strength or accuracy. Sure Craig Morton had a stronger arm because that guy had a cannon. That didn't mean Staubach didn't have a good arm. The comparison is laughable.

I can not wait for him to be out of the league completely. Like someone said, he is a media circus and because why? He is not a good QB at all. He was never really good in college, either but you can get away with your flaws there playing against young kids who just aren't that good. You will be exposed in the NFL, though.

I get tired of hearing his name like he is something special. He was a end of the bench QB who got released. Big deal.

How many draft picks have the Jets recently traded for a QB?

4th and 6th for Tebow

3rd for Favre

2nd(ontop of the first round selection) for Sanchez

and people complain about our trade to SF.

The last thing you want to do is compare the Cowboys to the Jets.
The Cowboys have not fallen that far yet.

The rest of this thread was shocking from some responses (some sarcastic...I hope).

Is Tebow the next Kurt Warner ? At least he has the money to hire a coach to help him. He may rise from the ashes and ...nope, not happening.

Scrub. Please sign him.

This is one of reasons/examples of why people need to know the game and understand the game....oh, and be realistic.

Peyton Manning is on the Broncos and they didn't win the Super Bowl.

Can we please stop with the "if Romo was on the niners or cardinals or whoever, they would have won a super bowl". He hasn't proven that he can get a team past the divisional round of the playoffs.

Im not saying we're better off without him, but lets stop acting like every other team out there would be better with Romo as qb. Plenty of teams have proven otherwise.

Yea he wouldn't fit in here.Way too many DUIs, Vehicular Manslaughter, oh yeah and a mother beater on this team..I am a Cowboy fan but I truly do not get the hate for this young man.All he has ever done is quietly do whatever he was asked, no complaining, whining, or whatever while keeping his faith.Really this team could seriously use some more like him.He may or may not be a great QB but he certainly is a fine human being. In a league devoid of role models he was one.It was the media here that was constantly looking for him to fail that was the problem.Anyway I doubt we pick him up but really what would be hurt as a back up.He shows up, gives great effort and goes to church.I will never get the Tebow haters. There was a time when this was the kind of person the Cowboys were looking for. This reminds me of the Barry Switzer haters.Remember him--last coach to win a SuperBowl with the Cowboys......

Nobody is saying that they hate the guy personally. I have a lot of respect for the guy and I got no problem with him openly showing his faith.

The problem I got with Tebow is:

1. The media circus he will bring to your team, think TO.
2. He is just not a very good QB, very poor mechanics and throwing motion.

Imagine Tebow on America's team wearing the star. That alone would sell enough jersey's to cover his contract. I sure hope Jerry's monetary wheels are not turning :(

Sorry but Tebow can't throw the ball.

The ONLY valid reason I can see for having him on the roster would be for the week leading up to the Commanders games (have him as the scout team QB running the read option).

Other than that... he's a waste of a roster spot.

I do agree though, we need a young guy on the roster, now, to develop.

yup, only use is to have a read option guy for scout team.

problem is he wont like that role.

And add the straight up #2 for Geno after all those failed moves. Not surprising that Tannenbaum is outta work.

I Spoke to Jets friend of mine. His immediate reaction? "The Patriots will sign him. I'm sure of it."

I find that pretty funny. Of course he'd never play QB in NE, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him change postions and have a game-chaning play against the Jets next year.

If nothing else, it would be pretty amusing. :laugh1:

I agree that Tebow is better off as a FB/H Back/short yardage rusher. Maybe Tebow is not the next Roger Staubach, but he could be the next Todd Christiansen.

Christiansen refused to switch positions and play TE for the Cowboys but he went on to have a HOF like career at TE for Raiders.
