Ted Ginn has a Lisfranc sprain ...

demand to have quinn instead?

I didn't mean it like that. I don't know what they would do, but it would sure screw their draft...

Lisfranc sprains are pretty common and people recouperate with them pretty readily once its been diagnosed and they take the time to properly rest it.

Its when its torn and requires surgery to reattach, like Stanback had, that it becomes a scary injury.

Good point.

Our medical staff in Dallas also suggested a variety of bad decisions.

Jimmy Smith would never play. Charles Haley, Jay Novacek and Troy Aikman could.

I would not be surprised if a few of them were involved over there with this.

Not to mention giving Tony Tolbert a big deal then telling us a year later he had a degenerative knee.

totally. but even before this injury everyone felt (well many people felt) that ginn was a HELL of a reach and ignorance in motion given quinn fell in their lap. maybe the guy picking for miami wrote sloppy and "quinn" looked like "ginn" and they didn't want to admit the faux paux.

I told you guys that the Cowboys shouldn't even think about Ginn.

I was right.:D

If his foot is that bad, how did he run a sub 4.4 in the 40?

He was hand-timed. Some there had him in the 4.6's but the lowest time is usually the one that gets reported.

Look at some of the pro day results vs. the combine results. Guys in the 4.5 to 4.7 range routinely get credited with 4.3s at their pro day.

That makes sense. I still think he was drafted too high. I live in Miami and the fans and sports talk shows have been raving about him running a 4.3 with a bad foot. The fans here are just desperate.

Wow...cool info. I knew there was something amiss because it took so long for this guy to heal...That must have been excrutiating to run that 40 and have the team doctors poke and prod to search for injury and not wince in agony.

Ayuh... They should have done a more thorough job of investigating his injury...

Now, if Ginn was HIDING it from them, I wonder what the Dolphins next move would be...

I'm sure Cameron knew well what his injury was. The Ginn family are long time close friends of Cam Cameron.

Miami's doctors are incompetent.

They considered Brees a risk and Culpepper healthy last year.

I wouldn't trust them to tell me a thing about Ginn's status.

It had nothing to do with his health. Cameron used his own agenda in drafting Ginn in the first round. If I were a Dolphin's fan I would start a nasty revolt to get Cameron fired.

Always add .15 or .2 to pro day times off the bat then adjust for the surface.

This is because a person has to react to seeing the runner start then pushes the stop watch.

Some will argue that they're legitimate because the timer also has a reaction time to the runner crossing the line but that fails to take into account the timer's anticipation. A person cannot anticipate the start but in our mind we can anticipate the runner crossing finish line dropping that reaction time substantially.

Still, some teams still rely on the pro day results. Willis ran in the 4.5s (IIRC) at the combine and was comparable to many of the other LB prospects then was credited in the 4.3s at his pro day which rocketed him up the board.

Did Miami know the magnitude of the injury? If yes, then they REALLY didn't want Quinn and they REALLY did want Ginn.

Either way they probably whiffed on this pick to some degree.
